Not a Olds but what do you think ?
First off, no I'm not considering a purchase, just cruzin Craigs List as I often do and came across this, Kind of near and dear to me as I restored to stock a 1964 BelAir 2 door post (I have posted pics on previous post )
I was kind of fascinated with his combination of retaining stock look all the way down to the interior and white walls but adding performance
to the 409 ! you see I also have a thing for sedans and the some what overlooked vehicles (notice this is not a Impala or a Super Sport)
I love it what do you think ? not sure on the price but since I'm not in the market I don't care.

I too have no clue on what a good price is for this car. Pretty sure right now a 350 two barrel 72 Cutlass will pull 55k right now so...🤣😂
Cool *** car. W motor and a bench seat four speed? What a cool car. I get what you see in it. Sure looks like a nicely built car. Not bullshitting anyone either. Huge marks in my book. Super nice looking car.

Solly I could really enjoy that car right after I flipped the whitewall to the inside. Back in the day that car would have just been for racing. Most everybody wanted a Super Sport. Thanks for posting.

NOM, so most likely a 283 car or even a six. Have to see the VIN to tell. Real 409s are nearly impossible to document absent paperwork, so the seller's acknowledgement of non-original status is appreciated. That said, it looks to be done right and I bet it's a hoot to drive. In this day and age $55K doesn't seem beyond the pale.

Here is (was) my 64, you can see why that 63 drew my attention, mine was the way less desirable but reliable and rock solid 283 with a two barrel. Since I restored it I knew every inch of that car and felt confident in it, it always made me feel I could drive it anywhere or across country
only mod was a RV cam to make it breathe a little better.
I love my 56 and it runs great but since I bought it pretty much completed I don't get that same feeling of confidence, that puts a check in the pro box for build vs buy argument. if I had the money that Craigs List 63 would be in my garage along with about 10 others !!!
P/S that old 283 was so tired when I pulled the crank I almost broke my toes when all 8 pistons fell out on them !!

my buddy and i finished a 66 belair for him,non original 454. we went to indiana to pick up a van for himself, the guy had a black and red 62,belair 409 3x2 bbl,and 4 spd.sweet car. another buddy has a 409 he has been building for years, finally in a 61 bubble to.

The 409 never came with 3x2's. It was either one or two 4-barrels. The 348 came with a 4-barrel or 3x2's. The 62 Bel Air 2 door hardtop was a very popular car with drag racers because it was lighter. A 61 with a 409 was a very rare car since very few of them were made. Those are some really neat vehicles.

I believe you're correct (in much the same way you can't put a J-2 manifold on a later 394), so any 409 you see with a 3 X 2 will be an aftermarket setup.
