Lost in the 50's Ted, this post is for you...

I was surfing Craigslist last night and came across this post. Ted, I don't know what color your interior is, but from a glance this looks like your car. You'd better check the garage to make sure its not

Price $69995

Well after a quick trip to the garage, mine is still there That is a very very nice car though.I'm not trying to pick this jewel apart because there is little to pick on (now watch me ) but I don't much like the orange dash, I've never seen one with that combo before but most anything could be special ordered at that time period from Old's. Also the seats aren't the correct pattern and the top is a little floppy, has the wrong skirts as mentioned before by Rockerowner. Other than that she is a beauty.

That price is what they were going for about four - five years ago, I love to see it sell for that number would only help the price of my ride should I ever decide to sell (doubtful). I bet if someone offered $ 59,000 you would own a nice ride....Lost if the fifties ...Tedd

Wow thats more expensive than most 70 w-30's out there

Although i'd love to see how a straight-8 responds under leadded foot conditions.

I guess you didn't see the 1970 w-30 'unfinished project' in the classifieds for 75K here. That just made this one look like a bargain!

They are a 324 V8 not a straight 8 eight that went out in 48 and you wouldn't be impressed with the massive 204 HP motor and 4500 pound car, I think my old Saturn 4 banger would out run my 55 in a drag race, but it would still look like kaka doing it. Different uses for different people, mostly class not much fast. ....Lost in the fifties ..Tedd

I actually think that dash and the garnish mouldings are SUPPOSED to be red, but the shade is way off.

Although it looks nice, the "98" scallop trim on the tail light bezels is not correct.

I find it interesting that a S88 convertible has manual brakes too - I know Power Brakes was not 'standard' equipment, but seems strange for it to not be found on a higher end model...I guess that's the result of the a-la-carte ordering style back then.

I'd still take this beautiful car in a heartbeat - but not with that price tag

I believe the taillights and the chrome strips on the rear quarters are from a 98 and the skirts are from a 54. It is interesting that it has power steering and no power brakes. My 54 did not come with power steering or brakes but has them both now. This is a nice car but way overpriced. I don't like the orange on the dash either.

another 55 convertible

Here is another 55 vert on Craigs List if I can get the link to work...Lost in the fifties ...Tedd......http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/4160208928.html... This is probably more in the price range of what a well restored 55 convertible is going for these days and this one has OBO behind the asking price.

I Think The Taillights On The convertible from (Portland Craigslit) Are Correct . The "98" Lens were Longer And Had The Chrome Spears on Each Outer Side of The Lens. The chrome Just In front Of Taillight Is "98" Only Chrome ,And As Stated Before The Skirts Are Not Correct For A Super"88". This Car Has The Super 88 (Round) Emblems On Front Fenders, But The Door Panels Are From A Regular "88" According To The Small Armrest. LARRY
