How much is gas where you live?
#243
On 18 October 2021, I paid $2.799/gallon for 87 octane with 10% ethanol at Sam's Club in a western suburb of New Orleans. The Sam's Master Card rewards 5% on anybody's gas.

Hey No1, it's still more than $3.25 for mid-grade in SE Denver/Aurora/Parker; and more out by DIA. Are you in south Denver/Littleton area? How about Highlands Ranch? It's been a few months since I was last there, and it was pretty high, then, IIRC.

I paid $2.84 yesterday and I used my Sams credit card as well. The only thing that sucks is the cash rewards is only redeemable once a year.

Getting the price information is helpful. Getting the location on the earth where it occurred would also be helpful.

Today $2.73 for regular in Parma Ohio from Sheetz,. $2.79 across the street at Shell for comparison.
Thankfully my 69 350 runs great on regular.
I use Gas Buddy to find the cheapest price when I'm out of my neighborhood.

$3.54 for regular in the Poconos.
U.S. Congress members recently announced Pennsylvania to receive billions from the congressional Infrastructure Bill to repair roads and bridges.
Not one PA State Senator or Representative responded when inquired if the recent 28 cents per gallon gasoline tax increase to repair roads and bridges will be repealed since the Federal government will be funding these projects.
The PA State Auditor recently discovered that more than $4 BILLION was clandestinely transferred to the State Police Pension Fund from the ‘dedicated’ road & bridge repair funds, over the period of six years, so to cover spiraling benefit costs. When caught, politicians simply replaced the transferred funds with money from the State’s General Fund, without taking action to reduce the spiraling pension costs.
Politics as usual.

PA must have some significant fuel taxes. There's a substantial jump in price, so I try to fill up before crossing the Mason Dixon Line. They're really doing something to get higher than Maryland.

Midway of VA/NC border 87 is all over the place. I've seen it from $3.05 to $3.35 last few days.
Diesel is the shocker. It went from $3.59 to $4.15 over two days last week. And we all know the price of everything is tied to the price of Diesel.

Here's a gas hack for some of you...
$3.25 at the Sheetz in Dahlgren, VA. Went inside beforehand to buy my smokes (they're cheaper in Virginia) and used my Sheetz loyalty card. Went back out to the pump and Sheetz knocked off 30 cents per gallon because I made a purchase inside and had them scan my discount card.
$2.95

I've had three of those Sheetz loyalty cards. Bar codes wear off quick and then they don't work. Last one I replaced it wouldn't take my email address. Me and local Sheetz manager had an unproductive discussion about that and I decided it wasn't worth the aggravation. I sure as hell wasn't going to set up another email account for that one card.
I only saved about 3c/gallon when I had those cards but if they're doing 30c/gallon maybe I ought to rethink it!😏
Sheetz here is weird, sometimes they're cheaper than everyone else but they're also known to jack the price up for a couple days. The others follow suit and then Sheetz drops theirs, leaving the others holding the bag. They can apparently respond quicker than other brands since I daresay they pump twice as much fuel in a given market as anyone else. That's a big reason I buy a lot of Sheetz gas- I figure much as they pump, it's fresh.

My wife has her own Sheetz card. She just called me to say that she went down to Dahlgren this morning, bought some stuff in the store, and when she went out to pump gas, Sheetz took off 20 cents per gallon. So I guess it's one of those, "The more you spend, the more you save." things.

I can still get gas here in Colorado for 3.20-ish a gallon. I saw some California stations over 6 dollars a gallon. Any California people on here to verify?

No surprised at all, oil price is raping everyone. Carbon tax is going up again shortly in Canada. Other parts of the country are 30 cents per liter higher than us, right now. Today, $5.73 per US gallon for regular 87 with 10% ethanol. Non ethanol Premium is $6.35 per US gallon. I won't be surprised if we see $7.50 a gallon. Good thing my 70 has OD and the new 357 should pull 20+ mpg on the highway, $100 per tank sucks.

Almost $5/gal in Seattle, WA. I see close to 6-7 by end of summer due to the War in Europe on top of everything else lately.

Within a two mile radius, gas is $3.49 to $3.79 for 87 octane in N.E.Ohio. Being in my 60's I "remember" when it was a little cheaper, or was it? I was making $1 an hour in 1965. Gas was in the low $.20's. Even lower because stations had "gas wars." Sunoco sold 112 octane, Amoco had a 107 octane Supreme. It was what we called "white" gas, no lead. It had phosphorus instead and your spark plugs stayed cleaner, so they said. I use to change plugs monthly! Talk about overkill. The second most thing we though about was performance in our cars. Ken
