edelbrock air gap intake manafold

IM in the middle of swapping the 350 for a 455 in my 1970 olds cutlass. The engine is still with the builder and he recommends a air gap manifold. Does anyone know if my hood will close with this type of manifold? I don't have a 455 intake to measure but Edelbrock says the height is 5.50 inches. I also need to think about a radiator, should I go 3 or 4 core and what will fit.
Thanks, Mike

Depends on what your planning to use for an air cleaner?

I just found the threads on this issue, thanks but what air cleaner do you recommend?

With an intake 5" high a ram air cleaner is not going to fit, with a regular hood a 4 barrel intake should work.

If you don't have a Ram Air Hood, then this will work. It is not compatible with a Edelbrock or Carter carb with electric choke. It will work with any standard Holley or Rochester 4v.

I just found out that the air gap does not have provisions for AC. I called to verify this with Edelbrock. I guess now I have to look for a performer manifold.
