I would have turned off that reserve as soon as it hit 10K would also have a hard time wiping that silly grin off my face. Missing original motor, trans basically the meat & potatoes is it still a W30 or just a clone or excuse me tribute ? No thanks

I think those mystery letters might just be production line order A to Z in 67 GM wasn't exactly the cutting edge of technology. They used to write options on the firewall with crayons for the next guy on the line. Just a thought

actually..it WAS rocket science..in 67 those trim tag codes where typed right off an IBM punch card...the same ones IBM developed with the space program and NASA used....so did GM..and Chrysler..

as early as 64 that i know..they used the IBM cards to build the cars...this board calls them broadcast cards..if you find an early broadcast card..you can see the hole punches in them..i think 69 the format changed to a more generalized "build sheet"...IBM cards came to light in around 61...

and believe me...they kept track..with so many cars produced..knowing whats what meant profits..options are profits...

trying to dismiss the trim tag isnt the angle....its proving the W30 idea..and again...needs more research and a good hands on inspection

Punch cards had been around for a long time. The holocaust (and the German war effort) was organized using punch card computers made by the German subsidiary of IBM (Hollerith). The technology dates to the turn of the century. Those machines were made for census work... And the ***** were very interested in counting and classifying people.

yes..i understand..but i think the space race era and the computers they brought forth is prob more in line for the credit to manufacturing accountability, than a US census worker that conceived the idea and later licensed it to who ever...

i dunno..my point was..trim tags are not just numbers slapped on a car ***** nilly...

and while i'm at it..whos ***** Nilly and how did he become famous for doing his job half-a$$ed?enquiring minds want to know
