Yes, there are aftermarket steel underside OAI hoods. It really depends on your budget. If you have a $600 dollar budget, you need to look for an all glass version. If you have a $2500+ budget you will be looking for a Thornton hood.or an original. The Parts Place hood is in between but most I have heard about their hoods is not good.

An all glass hood is not what I'm looking for. Maybe my words were not clear .

Parts Place hoods with steel frames have a different shape/design to the frames compared to the originals and Thornton repros - they even stated that in their early marketing materials for their hood. Someone may have posted pics of one in the past for comparison.

Unless The Parts Place change there design, look for rivets inside the hood scoops. The original ram air hoods just inside the scoops, you will see two small holes on each side. A flapper door was originally going to be just inside the scoops. That is the reason for the two holes. Hope this helps.

From a picture of the underside, yes. I have two cars with originals and an extra original '70 hood from a W-30, so I should be able to compare.

Have a pic or two of that hood that you can share?
