Have you considered using an Eastwood Product or are you looking for a professional heated type application?

No, do not want to paint. Tried that on customers cars because they wanted to go "on the cheap", and did not last very long and yes I did apply per directions

My manifolds were done in 2009 at a small shop in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and the car was finished June 2010. So I have about 7 years and 2500 miles on them and they have lost their finish.

Want to find a company that has proven quality and longevity.

Trying to get the car freshened up for the 2017 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals this coming November in Chi-Town.

I use this and very happy with it. Here is a picture of the exhaust manifolds I did on the Jetfire in 2012. They still look just like this and I have put around 4000 miles on it. I just brushed it on but it smooths out and you can't tell it was brushed.

I've put well over 20K miles on my 442 with that stuff. Another 7-8K miles on my GS with that, too. It's killer stuff, you put it on with a foam brush, leaves no brush marks. After it's dry, I like to start the car and let it run about 20 mins and cool. It's REALLY great stuff..........

thanks for the suggestion, however I want to lower the under hood temp. so I want to go with doing the inside and outside ceramic coating to do that. The lower temp ceramic coating has preserved my high dollar museum quality restoration in the engine compartment!

I merged your 2 duplicate threads to keep all the info in one place. On my Plymouth the exhaust manifolds and intake were powder coated and stayed nice for many years. The only way they would get stained was if you left oil residue on them and the engine went through a heat cycle.

I would use the POR 15 product. I've used VHT Super Hot, Duplicolor high temperature engine paint and BBQ grill paint with limited success.

I had my new Thornton W/Z manifolds Jethot coated in Arlington TX. The cast coat color is identical to the look they had before coating them. I have not fired them yet but this process is tried and true. You can search to see if there is a local vendor. Not the most economical route, but should never discolor.

I want to bring this back up. Can someone really ceramic coat them and still look like cast iron? What about an aluminum color? I am thinking about getting the pipe done that runs from the exhaust manifold to the turbo for my Jetfire. May also do the manifolds and down pipe if they can get the color correct.

Do you mind telling what it cost?

I went through my reciept file and was unable to locate the cost.. Although I do save my reciepts, it does tend to be less stressful when you are oblivious.. Here is a photo of the service resource. Best wishes.

Thank you. I called Jet Hot today and it is less money than I thought it would be. Not cheep but still not as bad as I feared.

I had a set of shorty headers jet hot ceramic coated back in the day on an astro van that I drove though MI winters for years. They held up without issues till I sold it. They were just starting to flake in a couple spots. I drove that thing daily for 10 years. I can attest to it's durability.

I have never had a painted stuff hold up on exhaust manifolds. like maybe a year.. Even with cleaning and sandblasting prior to application..
