Car movies. I just can't help myself
I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I'm flicking through the channels and a car movie comes on that I've seen a dozen times and I just can't help myself. I'll sit there for 2 hours and watch it again. This weekend I think that I sat through Smokey and the Bandit for about the 200th time, and then later Saturday night I actually found "The Car". One of the best B car movies of the '70's, and I found myself sitting there and watching it too.
Any car movies out there (besides the obvious "Bullitt") that you just can't help sitting through again and again?

I would strongly agree with many of the afromentioned movies listed. I would also add (1979) Mad Max,Fury Road and Road Warrior (In that order), Cannonball (Carradine) and I'd also throw in the recent Ford vs. Ferrari.

Van Nuys Boulevard; Pom Pom Girls; both are early 70's movies loaded with now vintage muscle cars. also, Grand theft auto (Ron Howard); Aloha Bobby & Rose (Paul LeMat). Also, Citizens Band (another with Paul LeMat).
White Lightning (Burt Reynolds) and WW & the Dixie Dance Kings (also Burt Reynolds)
Dazed & Confused is a somewhat more current iteration of the theme.
Corvette Summer (Mark Hamill); The Van are a few more vintage 70's fare. Also check out Beach Ball (1965 I believe) for some cool car scenes

I thought that I was the only one who remembered Aloha Bobby & Rose. I only saw it once at the drive in, about four and a half decades ago (1975?). Every time that they have Vanishing Point listed on cable, I pull up the on screen guide to see the year. When I see that it is the remake, I keep surfing.

I saw this one at the drive inn back around 1968. Movie is pretty hokey but the cars are good but the engine noise is all wrong, more like English 4 cylinders. Vacationing family, milk toast Father, domineering Mother, pesky Son, HOT DAUGHTER.
I missed a lot of the movie (except for the car scenes) back then. I'll have to try to find the whole movie. Here's the trailer.

Lots of good ones, along the lines of Bullit, the 7ups and The French Connection both neat chase scenes
Gumball Rally is another good one
Hot Rod-1979
didn't see Hopper in the list
A few years ago TMC had a run of hot rod flicks from the late 40's- to late 50's
Hot rod-1950
Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow--1959
Hot Cars-1956
Jalopy-1953

It gets worse
These three movies are the holy trinity of the genre.
My problem has progressed to the next level. I will watch old(er) movies to see the cars in the background. I admit to watching Elvis sing in Clambake just because I noticed the cross bolted mains on the 427 Fud on a stand in the background. I would get professional help but a relapse is inevitable.

How about this one - "The Lively Set", starring James Darren, Pamela Tiffin, Doug McClure and Joan Sommers? It's about a race across desert road with a car that has been converted to gas turbine. Exciting race scenes as well as drag strip scenes with all kinds of hot rods. I think it's a mid-'60s movie. I even have it on DVD!
