Exclamation 1972 clock parts

bought a 1972 clock off ebay, and for some reason when putting it in, it shorted out and smoked it bad - i've taken it apart and rewound the solenoid and got it working again, but i it really made a mess of the top plastic piece that holds the solenoid and the points on the solenoid are about shot. i'm afraid it will toast the solenoid wiring again very soon -

looking for a parts clock it those two things are good or just the parts if someone has a dismantled clock -
the right half of the attached picture is what i'm needing -

thanks

Don’t mess with trying to repair the old school mechanical clocks, just get the quartz conversion. I converted mine to quarts probably 30 years ago and it still keeps perfect time. I’m betting the original clock stopped sometime early in the Nixon administration!

worked when i got it, but i smoked it. with the help of a couple videos was able to get it working again, but who knows for how long. just though i'd throw it out there - will opt for quartz if it comes down to that - thanks

The Quartz movement is the only way to go. I put one in my 65 Corvette in 1999. It is still working, and keeping the correct time.
