choke and after market volt gauge

can tne green wire for the temp.sender unit on motor be used for choke and after market volt gauge,eliminating idiot light.,on 1966 cutlass,i think its 12 volt keyed switch.

No, that is a ground wire.

Volt meter can be connected to just about any power wire in the dash - lights, clock, cigar lighter, radio. Or plug a wire into the IGN or ACCY port on the fuse box.
