Electric Choke

Good afternoon, I'm trying to find a place to hook up the electric choke to, anyone have any ideas? I tried cutting into the wipers but they stayed on all the time. The guy who had the car before me had it hooked up to the wire coming off of the coil. It never worked since i've had the car .

Joe put this sticky together a while back. I found it helpful.

I did the relay triggered off the field wire on the alternator because I have an oil pressure gauge sending unit instead of the dummy light switch.

What if I have a Holley carb? The instructions are telling me that because the choke is grounded at the carb and the positive is fused switch power how would I go about wiring this up?

It really doesn't matter if it is a Holley, Edelbrock or ???. The wiring concept is the same. Go to post #1 in the thread referenced and it will show you how to wire it up. I used this exact method and it works.

So do I still ground the choke since it does have a ground on the actual choke along with the power feed meaning do I still need to wire it into the alternator and if so I have two wires there which one do I splice it into? I'm only asking because I notice the electric choke on the quadra jets only has a power feed so you have to ground it elsewhere.

Yes, you still have to ground the choke to complete the circuit. A pic of the wires you are referring to will help us help you.

The QJet choke is grounded through the body of the carburetor. If your choke coil has a ground lead, just connect it to the intake manifold, carb screw, etc at a convenient location.

Here are some pics I found on the web:
