I’m trying to take care of as many low cost things as I can on my to do list since I have a lot of free time right now. Up next is wiring up the electric choke conversion on my Quadrajet. I read Joe’s article below. I wanted to use the relay method since I have an oil pressure sending unit for gauges and not a switch for the dummy light. I don’t want to T both units into the oil pressure line and have a bunch of fittings and two switches, it would look to cluttered. I understand that if the belt brakes the choke will close and I’m okay with that. In the article I could not find a part number for the relay. Has anybody else done this, or does anybody know what relay would work? Thank you.
Most of those generic relays are at least 30 amps, so they'll be fine. Heck, you can get a 5 pack of them on Amazon right now for $10, with the sockets.
Thanks for the responses, and thank you Joe for writing it up for everybody. I bought a waterproof one like VC455 linked to above. I plan to mount it on the fender forward of the horn relay close to the alternator.

To close this thread out I have completed my electric choke/relay harness. Total cost about $30. I bought the relay, some packard 59 terminals, ring terminals, in-line fuse holder and some harness tape. I reused some old wire harnesses for the wire and connectors. I didn’t want to cut into the existing harness to tie into the alternator field wire so I removed the terminal from the connector and made a completely removable inline adapter from two wires to one. I ran the fused power wire to the horn relay.
