Lightbulb Headlight Plugs '68 442

I recently purchased a wiring harness which includes plugs for the headlights. Attached is a photo of two plugs for one side of the car. I just need to confirm that the lobes (half-circles at the bottom of the plugs) should be in the same downward position on both plugs when plugged into the back of the headlights. Thanks.

It doesn't matter.

The low beam plug will only fit one way and the high bean plug can go on either way.

Incandescent light bulbs have no polarity.

Actually if you install H-1 halogens then the high beam has a pos and a neg... because the rear shell of the headlamp is metal...Cibie headlights are No. 1...

I've got an older pair if those, and the case is metal, but the terminals are isolated, and I still have to ground one for the light to work. They also aren't configured to use those Packard 57 plugs.
I don't know about newer versions.

The headlights are T-3's.

Right. So, like I said, they have no polarity.

Also consider that the T3 lamps themselves can be correctly mounted only one way using the aiming tabs molded into them. Those fit into slots in the headlight bucket. If the lamps are oriented correctly, the plugs will also orient correctly.

Now, if someone has managed to install the headlight buckets upside down or rotated...

Thanks for the help.
Yeah, it was interesting educating myself as I installed the headlamps/buckets/trim rings - how they coordinate with each other and the mounting holes in the core support so that each lamp is installed in the correct position. The "1" and "2" on the lamps help, also.
