Hurst Dual Gate installation in 69 Delta w/bench seat

I just scored this original HO 1968/69 shifter on eBay. My questions are,
1. Will this work with my bench seat? I am tall so the seat is always extended.
2. Will a stock Hurst Olds Cutlass shift cable work in the bigger Delta?
I will probably build a console myself since I don't like the look of cheap plastic ones.
All input is appreciated..

I doubt the shifter will work well. Especially if that is the normal seat position you drive with.

My father; Oldsguy, owned a 69 Delta 88 years ago that was originally a bench seat car. We converted it to buckets and used a console out of a 1978 Holiday 88. I'm 7ft tall and didn't have any trouble driving it. Not anymore trouble than I usually have driving a car that is.

BTW, I suggest you look at Summit or Jegs for an aftermarket shift cable. I believe we used one made by Lokar.
