Glue for my hood liner or no?
Replacing my hood liner AGAIN ( last one began to tear cheap quality)
What type if any glue should I use to hold the pad onto the hood along with the metal clips?

I just replaced the hood pad on my '67 Delta. In addition to the plastic clips, I used 3M weatherstrip adhesive to hold it on in the various places where the previous one was glued. Stuff works great.

I like idea of a spray...just curious is the glue needed, can I get away with just the metal clips ?? I am thinking of having large polished clips made for me. I just picked up a polished metal cover for my ride-on mower air filter holder. I asked the manager if he could make mirror finished metal clamps for the hood liner and he is going to make them for me. They are about the size of hockey pucks so they should hold the liner on nice.
For 1972 the Body Assembly Manual states:
"Apply 9985062 Cement in area shown to hood surface and insulator....."
(see attachment)
How does one decode the part number? Not that I actually expect to be able to find that glue, but more for bolts and screws.....
