I am sure this has been discussed many times but I cant seem to find it... What are the outside drum to drum lengths for the 10 bolts? Looking for a 68-72 and cant recall if the 73-77 are longer?

 

The control arm mounting brackets are different on the 73/77 housings.

 

67-72 55.25 housing flange to housing flange or 61" drum to drum
73-77 56.25 housing flange to housing flange or 62" drum to drum
64-66 54.25 housing flange to housing flange or 60" drum to drum

As stated correctly 73-77 are not interchangeable with 64-72 rears...just way different rears and chassis set-up

Are the Vista Cruiser rears wider? I know they use a larger brake shoe than a 2-door model, not sure how that affects the width.

 

No they are the same width - drums are wider inward...backing plates have more backspacing to use 2.5" shoes not the 2" shoes.

The shock mounts are extended, and the frame bump stops are sideways compared to sedan and coupe or convertible rears as the frame rails are probably slightly wider where they would bump the rear end housings if it hit a big enough chuck hole. ...But that is about all the difference.
Obviously axle bearings are different too because wagons carry more weight.
