Gas tank insulator

The insulator between the tank and the body. Is that something that we can get pre cut to fit, or do you just get a sheet and cut it to size?

Check the search engine for "gas tank pad" and you will find "70Post", Mr. Patton Glade, who makes these items. His is a great product and a wonderful service for those of us whose gas tank pads have seen better days. I have one of his pads on my '69 4-4-2 and it is great. I made one from sound insulator and a large sheet of clear plastic for my '68 4-4-2 and it cost more than the one I got from Patton for my '69. Go with Patton!

Although 72 didn't come with that, I bought one from Patton and installed it. It's a perfect fit. Patton is very fair with his pricing and shipping. Here's a link to his thread on these:

My 70 had the black mat on it but I decided to use heavy rubber strips glued down.
It worked great and the full mat is not necessary. I am not concerned with 100% originality on things like this.
