steering wheel insulator cushion

Well I got problems right here in Forest Ranch. Horn will not shut off, seems the Insulator cushion has compressed under the horn ring and the weight of the ring will set it off. Any one know where I might find such a part? And ya this is for a 1955 olds convert.
I'm trying to bubble gum it to gether with shoe goop as I speek, but this is definley not a concourse fix, and doubtfull it will hold together for any length of time. Any help would be appreciated....Tedd

Not sure about the '50s Olds, but I foxed a '60s F_rd with a similar problem by cutting pieces out of a Bondo spreader and using them as insulators.

I'm not sure why this post came up after two years but thanks for your interest.

The fix.
For those who may have the same problem a replacement part is available through Fusick part# 566369 but it is not as thick/ robust as the original and requires careful attention to the tightness of the steering wheel to get it also to not ground out when the wheel is pressed to the lock....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

Cause a newbie was lurking, but glad you got it fixed, it only took almost 3 years.
