I like those too but I am sure originals are pretty rare now. Can you get them in the aftermarket?

gearheads78, it's your car, and you can do as you wish, but I'd recommend selling your wheels too - they just don't look right on that car - IMHO

nonhog, those wheels look AWESOME on your car! they really set the car off nicely. that style Corvette wheel has a nice muscle car appeal - IMHO

This thread has nothing to do with my car. He asked for opinions and I gave mine. Someone must have liked mine though since there is upcomming print on my car. Just sent off the release forms last night

I think the wheels look pretty good on the car (actually better than i thought they would). The problem I would have is everybody and their brother will immidiately identify them as Corvette wheels.

Those are Corvette wheels?

I seriously never really pay that much attention to Corvettes unless they're going to run me over or have a trunk or split rear window.

The wheels are different than you normally see, they don't look bad and they are chrome.
I think they would look a lot better with raised white letter tires or gasp...choke...whitewalls.

Personally I think Torq-Thrusts in chrome or the aluminum rim with dark spokes and chrome Cragar S/S's on anything give you all the choices and are the best looking, everybody has their own tastes but they are the best.
I really like gearheads wheels, have the same sort of feel but on steroids.

The big wheels are growing on me more and more.
It's getting hard to get dressed, have to see the Doc and get a prescription or something.

Thanks guys, I don't mind if someone doesn't like them. I asked !
I got them with the car and they are genuine 70 something Vette alloys.
I hated the idea when I saw them but figured they would be good for trading or selling. Since the bias ply tires that were on the car were very poor shape I installed the Vette wheels and slowly grew to like them.
Might still go with more of a sixties style wheel. I have some original American's 5 spoke 15x8.5 and 15x7 but I'm sure without alot of work they wont fit.(or air shocks)

The jury is still out ! Lots of time to decide

If you decide to want to sell them I believe they were original on 77-82 Corvette.

Here is an example of what a really nice set sold for. Get your polisher out.

76 was the first year for them. 73 was supposed to be their debut but Chevy didnt approve them until 76. My dad has a set off his 21,000 mile 76. He replaced them back in the mid 80s with real 200S'.
