C6(2005 up corvette)wheels on a cutlass?

I found some 2007 corvette wheels and tires for 1000.00 and was wondering if they would work on my 69 cutlass S. The wheels i believe are 18 x 9.5 for the front and 19 x 10.5(or maybe 11) for the rear. My brother researched and said that the offset for the corvette was about 2 inch. Anyone know if these would work? Anything have to be done to make them work(such as spacers, etc.)? thanks for any help.

The offset is WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY to much. I am completely opposed to spacers. They are dangerous and put too much pressure on the wheel bearings.

I'd pass on the wheels personally.

Besides I'm pretty sure you don't have enough wheel well to clear those monster rims in the back and you'd never clear them in the front when you turn.

Yes on the offset, but don't condemn all wheel spacers. The Chinesium die cast spacers at Pep Boys are crap, but there are precision hub-centric spacers available that will accurately and safely locate the wheels. Of course, the correct spacers aren't cheap, either. I spent about $300 for a pair for the back of my dually. You can get them here:

http://www.wheeladapter.com/

Note the dual set of bolts and the centering ring for the hub.

By the way, this company is run by Fred Groeske, a former rocket-powered funny car driver. I went to his shop and picked my spacers up and spent a while talking to him. He's a great guy.

I also need to point out that you are mistaken about the wheel bearings. Simply spacing stock wheels out with spacers WILL overload the bearings, but if you use spacers with the Corvette wheels, you will actually be putting the centerline of the tire back in line with the bearings, where it belongs. That's beneficial, not detrimental.

Now, while you CAN get correct, safe wheel spacers, by the time you buy the Vette wheels AND the spacers, you will be money ahead by just getting the correct offset wheels to start with.

See I'm used to seeing just the spacers, not something like that. That's a nice piece or engineering.
