You could always get the faux Oldsmobile valve covers for your Chevy engine. Then it would look "authentic."

Nice job redog with the comments. Yeah I'm sure it is real fast but it still would be better with a 455. Oh well.

And what's the long term plans. Years ago I purchased a 1966 Buick Special with a fresh rebuilt 1970 Olds 455 in it. He'd been trying to sell it for a long time, but the Buick guys didn't want it with the Olds engine, and Olds guys didn't want the Buick skin on their engine! I bought it, kept the motor, trannie and posi rear end then sold the rest to a Buick guy

Last year I talked with a guy on ebay. He'd built a nice looking 1970 442 convertible clone but put a Chebby 454 under the hood. He said when he was building it he had no plans to ever sell it. But life changes sometimes... and he ran into the same problem. Nobody was willing to pay near what he'd invested in the car. If he'd kept it all Oldsmobile it would have sold for sure at his minimum bid because it was (and I'm sure still is) a very nice car.

It's all GM, but there's a much larger following of people who want their car to be ALL that make and not a mixed bag of parts. John

I love this vid.

Runs a 13.3... Makes the comment about how he doesn't have "some people's money" and it's "still better than a 455"... Uh, letsee, stock 455 rebuild $2k? Nice cam $200, shave the heads a few thou to bump compression $200, performer intake $200, call it $2500-3000 for a 455 to out perform this car and then some. Wonder what kind of $ is tied up into this thing...

I don't understand how he was in 6th gear by the 1/8th mile

I would guess with a twin turbo Ls1 and a T56 he probably has at least double in it then if he just went with a 455

I really don't care that much, but these cars really need Olds Motors in them and it's not like they can't be found.
