California utility proactively cuts power because of weather

Of course, if you are, you probably don't have electricity to power your computer to see this, anyway.

 

Juice just came on five minutes ago. It's been 20 hours of nothing but the radio on (batteries included). This is a joke when PG&E shuts a huge piece of California electricity off I received no notice other than a mention on the radio after the fact. I didn't have time to run some water for the toilet or dog drinking water as the pump went dry before I knew what was happening. We had no high winds or forest fires for over a hundred miles.

It's just my opinion but I feel PG&E is just trying to cover there A$$ for their screw up on the Camp Fire..... Shower and flush the toilet tonight.

 

Wow. Sad to hear. Hope it doesn't last long.

 

My fear is that every time it gets over 90 degrees and there is a breeze they will shut off the juice. Every year it gets over 90 for about a month straight. I can see it coming now, I better fire up the generator, it's going to be a long hot summer..... Tedd

 

Tedd, I hope everything works out okay for you... From the way it sounds you just have to be prepared for the worse...

What ticks me off is they have all of our phones set up so we get a warning when PG&E or the State triggers it, had it happen a 1/2 dozen times this winter for mud slide warnings in the fire area. Nothing for a black out unless you catch it on local news..... Tedd
