Hi everyone.

Gas man came today. They sent me a confirmation email that I perused and when I went back to it saw it said, oh by the way, we couldn't make it the day you wanted, so we picked one of our own. So the furnace is chugging away, and maybe it won't be 56* in the house when I get home in the morning.

John I'll have to go looking for the My Classic Car that I was in. It would have been late summer or fall of 2000. I think I have it on video cassette, but alas, my machine is broke.

Jamesbo that's a great idea. And when I tell her to hit the road, she can jog all the fat off and then look good on my side all summer.

Clint I was never enamored with Florida. I'll probably end up living there, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Glad you had a good time. Actually my first choice would be Nevada. How cool would it be to live next to a brand new country.

Night 3. Last night was good. I worked with another guy whom I rarely get to work with, we had a good time. We ran around all night and didn't get much done, but solved a few problems. The passengers were better off this morning for it so I felt good about it.

Okay time to HTB. It's the weekend for you normal type. Have a good one.

Not a good night, got called out of work to go to the E.R. Unfortunately my oldest brother passed away from ALS, due to his service in Vietnam and agent orange. Good night, Dan.

Good Morning.

1969w3155- Sorry to hear about your brother, my condolences.

Slantflat- Your job sounds kinda "fun" from what ive been reading. In the way that it seems not another day is same than previous. Thats what i like, if theres something "new" ahead of you all the time, and not needing to torque the same bolt over and over again, as an example.

Well, saturday. Sauna day!!! Lots of beer too

Have a good day everyone.

Ahhhh.

Was on heaven- or atleast the equal Place on earth- sauna. Wonderful feeling.
And god, beer never taste as good as sitting at 158F and opening ice-cold beer... Aah..

Well well, been repairing our bedroom whole day. Theres work for day or two more atleast. It was ****ing cold at last winter, and reason was obvious; no insulation at one wall-corner.

Have a good saturday evening everyone. ( Ps. Sometimes i feel stupid wishing good Morning/evening etc, since i know you have way different time of day than me , even another day than me )

Hi everyone.

Ah, Friday for me. It's been cool at night but I'm still not wearing a jacket. I do keep the heat going in the truck.

Fun? The fun is when I'm working with people I like, the other times it's just work. Last night there was a charter for the 76ers (no clue) and a couple of us grabbed some of the left over food and headed for an empty office. We sat around eating and BSing for over an hour. We were pretty much caught up with our work, and it was nice to kick back and relax in the middle of the work night. It is a blessing to work with people you like and respect, and who like and respect you.

No specific plans for my days off. Get something accomplished, have some fun. Maybe not in that order. Won't get an early start, the good Friday lead is off tonight, the others don't seem to see the importance to the Friday guys going home. Eh, they ain't going far.

Okay have a good night everyone.

Hi everyone.

Rain. I bet it's been two months since we've had rain. Got a brief shower while I was sitting in the Awful house but that was it. And now, dank.

Was all set up to get out early last night, then got set up to fail. Parts not where they were supposed to be, wrong hardware, bad information on the log sheets, Eh better luck next time. I'm off for three they can't touch me.

Had plans to clean up the carport a little bit this afternoon. Think I'll find an inside project to do. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.

Dan, my condolences, it sucks to lose people, especially too early.

Interesting weekend so far. Worked Thursday night, moved Friday morning, worked Friday night, had a contractor come to house to fix something which even now isn't perfect, but I'll live with it on Saturday all day, and spent today just sort of dazed around. Going to go to Menards and grocery store here shortly.

Everything is not where it is supposed to be, and I've still got cardboard and construction paper down on the floors, but I am at least living here now. Will clean up the apartment the rest of the way this week.

Mountain mernin', all....
Now I know why they call 'em The Smoky Mountains.

Dan, my condolences. It's always a shock when a loved one passes, even if down in your heart it's expected.

Hopefully today will be a little less smoky than yesterday; honestly, it's no fun being up here if you have all the worst of Los Angeles and London (no offense to you, London). Being outdoors takes on a negative connotation.

Y'all have a great week, Olds amigos.

Good morning everyone.

Foggy. But the sun is coming out so it won't last long. Gonna be a nice day.

Jamesbo someone(s) used my shop for years as a driving range. I've probably collected enough golf ***** over there to fill a 55 gallon drum. I give them all to my neighbor. He hits them from his front yard and they clear the trees.

John are the fires anywhere close to you or just the smoke? Maybe you could wear one of those hats with the fan in the brim, to constantly blow the smoke from in front of your face.

That's sure too bad about Citcapp Pat. Sounds like he had a perfect retirement setup. I hear that too much, people retire and then don't get to enjoy it. Prayers for his family.

Guess I'll head to the Awful house. Have a good day everyone.

Dan, My sympathies to you and your family.

Looks like lots of bad news on here today. Also found the owner of the Model AA page on FB has had his last Chemo and moved to hospice.

Not a good start for a Monday.

Evening.

Not so good.. Got a $3500 setback.. Sauna's chimney leaking inside the roof. Well, that was to be expected, since its 70 years old, and cold building otherwise than heating sauna. Just bad time to happen, now when work has stopped.
Good luck it havent catched fire yet. But no sauna until they fix it. Fuuuuuuuu.... Maybe even two weeks

Well, since i just spend all my money i had on my "fun-trust" for winter, do any of you visit or order from Summit?
Happens i have a $20 "Summit bucks" coupon to be used on shop/ internet, which expires at 01/03/2017. Got it when i bought my Keystones this summer from them.
I was going to use it, but now i simply dont have any spare money to order nothing more to my car until summer.
So, if you feel you would use it before it expires, just send me an pm and ill give you the code for free.

That suck about Pat. He was one of the very early ones on CO.

We used to share recipes and he'd give me electrical advice.

John, Hope the smoke clears. I guess I was wrong about the showers coming in.

Mike, About 2 years ago, The geniuses that run the golf course axed the course designer if he thought any improvements could be made. That's kinda like axing an interior decorator if you should repaint any walls. Anyway they ripped up 50 acres of Bermuda grass and planted these "natural area"
The only thing " natural" about them is they look like broom sage. Zo, any extra ***** ya find I could use.

Welp, GTG

Kwik mountain worm. Mike skedaddled about 8 last nite after a nice day of eating and chewing the fat -- but not the fat from the roast beast and baked rigatoni.

Smoke has subsided greatly from Sunday thank goodness, although the fires (from the brief radio reports we've heard) are still raging. Hoping we gets our cable TV back today. Not sure where to even begin on Windstream. Between them and the retaining wall guy, there wasn't much time to talk about anything else yesterday.

Y'all have a great Humpity, Olds homeboys (that's an awful one, eh? Maybe worse than "compadres"?).

John, When I 1st set up my Windstream account, I went to their office in Clayton. Don't feel pregnant, the Employees hate the serivce people as much as the customers do. The language the lady used to one [out of state] service people would make a sailor blush

BTW, I tought I told you NEVER start a project in the mountains during deer season. NO body works during hunt'in season.

I'm still think'in about my fellow mod Pat. Wonder wth happened

Hi everyone.

Had a nice day at John and Better Half's yesterday. And no smoke. I drove through some but none at the house.

Got up early this afternoon and ran a couple errands. Then messed around and was late leaving for work. So here I am.

Hey Dan how's things going?

Saw on the Hemmings Daily that a guy in Iowa had a bunch of Riviera cars and parts, and they are all getting auctioned. Hope Darrell goes out and scores a few gems.

Not much else newsworthy. Hope everyone had a good Hump Day. See ya's all later.

Good Morning.

Quess what? Warm weather and rain for next 5 days. So all the snow is going to melt. Not good, really humidit weather, so my little bedroom-repair has to wait, since im sawing everything outside, including wool, to prevent mess inside.

Hmm. Today im going to sit at home, but tomorrow i think i might to start with my car, and go take the rear down.

Have a nice thursday everyone.

It's going o.k. Mike. Funeral is tomorrow. I am the administrator for his trust, which I have no problem with as he is my brother. The problem is his adult sons (in their 40's) who still haven't grown up. His 2 boys get the house, and one is lazy beyond belief, and refuses to work. I have to be the one who pays the taxes, insurance, and upkeep on the house as they can't be trusted with any financial responsibilities and they would blow it all in a heartbeat, and lose the house. The lazy one believes that everything is his, and started driving my brothers car even though he has no license, which was suspended about 5 years ago. A liability waiting to happen.

If I may comment on this. A talk with the two brothers on if they want the house and the responsibility, or if they just want money from the sale minus a cut for you handling the work of getting it to market, might be in order. This way, they receive money to blow, which, while sad, isn't anything on you.

Hi everyone.

Warmer outside than it is in the house. Maybe I should bump up the thermostat a little.

Dan that's too bad about the sons. I hope it works out, for you anyway and you don't have a lot of lasting grief from them.

Snow Clint? I'm already twitching. Just the mere mention of snow and we're not getting any.

Hm, no Jamesbo today. He must be in the big city.

So I've been bragging a lot about how I'm number 1 in seniority on my shift in the department. Then I find out dayshift is going to 8 hour days and rumors of everyone bailing. That's okay, now I'm 4. Get a call today from the guy running the bid and says Joe is coming back early, and now I'm 5. Joe hurt his foot about 6 months ago and the word was he'd be out close to a year. Well, Joe has 11 years on me and wants the same days off I want. So all it will take is a couple guys from dayshift to come to midnights for better days off and I'm back to $hitty days off. We'll see the bid closes tomorrow morning.

Time for this week's second go-round. Have a good night everyone.

Koda, I am meeting with the attorney that my brother used to set this up. My brother left them the house to live in, not to sell, but if there is a falling out between them, that may just happen as they fight constantly. I have no problem helping out, but I don't want nor need the grief (crap), that these two will create.

Good Morning.

1969w3155 - Not with bad, but if ive read and understand correctly, i just might say " fool and his moneys are soon parted".. Too bad, when wealth someone, in this case, your Brother, have collected over his lifetime, just get wasted.
Dunno am i alone with my thinking, but in my opinion, with every passing generation, wealth moving forward should atleast be the same you got when your parents passed away.

Today im going to drop the rear from my Cutlass. Atleast trying to. Id like to get my rear done this year, after that drop the gearbox.
Meanwhile ive promised to change new leafs to my friends 74' Valiant- then to installing my gearbox with all new parts. I vent through ~18 pints of ATF this year, it leaks that bad, from every possible seal.

Oh well, its friday, so have a good day.

Btw- i have a question. Ive often wondered how this site runs? Does people donate, does some companies fund this or what, since ive found no mentions about that.

Speaking of foul weather, we are at 65° right now, but tomorrows high will 37°, with wind, snow/rain mix. A long time meteorologist was on the local news today explaining why we will probably get a below normal cold winter with lake effect snow flurries. Lake Michigan is in the 50's for water temps right now, unheard of for this time of year, throw in cold air from Siberia (the Siberian Express) crossing that warm water and the result is heavy wet snow. It is not forecast yet, but that is the set up. Oh joy!

Good evening.

Was quality time at garage, only thing is that im totally lost with my rear.
Brings in my mind my "74"' Volvo 144. It was build before they officially started to build them, and it had really interesting mix of 73 and 74 parts, and between them also bolts changed to metric from us.inch, so indeed was interesting.

Well well, friends coming tomorrow, wifey has free weekend, so everythings good..?
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hi everyone.

Jamesbo you're right, it was a lovely 70+ today. Saw a little bit of it this afternoon. Cold temps coming this weekend. We'll see.

Dan both boys are 40 and still living at home? Hope the attorney has some good news for you.

Inline I thought you weren't working on the car this winter on account of the sauna being bad?

Gotta put gas in the car, so off to work a little early. Saw gas at 1.99 on the way to da hills the other day, and it isn't too far behind here in the Greater Stockbridge Area. Sure as I'm sitting here though it will go back up a quarter or so, because you know it can't get too low lest the profits aren't enough.

Okay have a good evening everyone. It's the weekend. One more for me.

Mike, one is living there, and has been for years (the lazy one) his younger brother has lived in the area for years, but still only works on and off. Their sister, who is the oldest, and isn't afraid of work, gets nothing while the freeloaders get the house. If the trust runs out of money, and they cannot pay for taxes insurance and upkeep, then the house will be sold and divided three ways. I almost wish that they had control of the money, which they would blow through in no time, then the boys would have to work for a living or sell the house, which would be fine by me.

Good Morning. Saturday.

Was some hungry cats behind the outdoor due to them eating all ... hmmm?? dry food they have outside? Situation fixed
These cats have a funny story- it was requisite that we take them, when we bought this house, since those live at outside, and they were moving to apartment house, and had a dog. So no can do. Wifey is in love with them.

Slanflat- I might have expressed it unclearly, but i meant that i dont do any excess work/purchases to car this winter- the rear and automatic parts are already paid for. Without that chimney i would have bought some interior and exterior parts too, and gone to redirect part of my exhaust to shop. Thank god i also bought 90% of the material needed on my upstairs bedroom/clothroom repair at autumn when i was still at work. Tho i quess, that during this 5 months at home, i might have to draw some money from savings account to own garage, cant go 5 months without breaking anything.

1969w3155- Well, without knowing how much it does cost to upkeep an own house at US, i could almost bet its the ~same% when compared to average yearly income, as here. Therefore i might quess they blow through that money in no time anyways if they arent working, just by upkeeping all the bills and repairs involved at owning a house?

Have a nice day everyone!

Cooled 4 cast iron skillets of cornbread . Gonna let it dry out so it'll soak up all the goodness of onions, celery, sage, chopped chicken and chicken stock

I like the dressing better than the turkey on T-day

Hi everyone.

Gonna be cold tonight. The wind has been blowing all day, frost warning even. I'd hate to have to wear a jacket tonight.

Dan hope things went well today.

Well the results are in, and I got the days I wanted. I was a little surprised that I got them, but am glad. A couple people got bounced around and aren't happy about it, but that's how it goes with a seniority based bid. Plenty of years I got what was left.

My girl messed around outside and now I'm running a little late. I don't care, it's Friday. Big Friday, because I'm on vacation next week.

Okay off I go. Happy weekend everyone.
