Now that I know how intelligent Tiger is, I think Abraham would have been fine. I would have called him Abe, but ABEraham I think he would have recognized. Norm how many birds come when you call them?

Just gorgeous out. Temp is over 70. Got one load over to the house then mailed some letters and then went to Awful house. I had thought, I could mail my letters then go to lunch...nah, I'm not really all that hungry. Well, by the time I got to the post office I was famished. Good thing, too, I saw a friend of mine there and we had the nicest chat.

So I got back and we had an early break. I already have the next load ready to go so I'll take that over and come back for more.

While I have known many great ****, and most would come when I called them, I have never known any green ones.

Mike, a temporary crown is not custom made for the tooth, nor is it durable like a permanent crown. They are both cemented in the same way. Dentist probably put on a crown a little too small, or with too much cement and it was hard to get off.

I had a temp crown for years. The only thing I noticed was chewing gum stuck it

How many of you all are following the WM Phoenix Open?

I just love watching this venue of golf, cross between Baseball season opener and Happy Gilmore.

Keith - The 16th is certainly a crowd pleaser isn’t it? I’m already into the house spring cleaning thing 65F here today. Super Bowl golf tournament tomorrow at my club, Superball format. Stay warm in the Great White North my friend.

Hi guys,

Here's a couple pics of my wife's latest masterpiece, a ladies bedroom/bathroom vanity. It's very old, note the beveled edge lead glass mirror.

Norm if you want to have a little fun with the group take a bag of full sized marsh mellows and scatter a few around the fair way on your way through. I did that one year at a chamber of commerce scramble and it was an interesting outcome.
I asked the foursome at a double t-box split "How is your day"? Their reply was "Good except for some ******* leaving marsh mellows all over" my reply was " I know isn't that immature"? then giggled like a little school kid.

That golf event is 30 miles north of me, but that interests me about the same as the annual quilting bee at the retirement home.

Just not my thing at all.

Thank you. I appreciate an appreciative audience. Although I don't view the new ones with the same worth as the old ones, the scene with the New Kirk involved with a green lady that's Uhura's roomie when Uhura comes home is funny.

You know Kenneth, I say I like hot weather, but I'm not sure I would like your hot weather. Although, if it wasn't doable, no one would live out there. Your winters must be awesome, even in the 80s.

I worked myself pretty good today. Didn't get a whole lot moved, but what I did was heavy, large, cumbersome, substantial. I'm pleased. Also, I wanted to put this stuff in the basement and I was able to drive down to the basement door and not get the truck stuck. Win. I'm beat tonight. I pulled something in my back so the heated bed will feel extra good tonight.

Our big thing was Arbys tonight. We even shared a mint chocolate chip milkshake. It doesn't seem like 5 years that I've had Tiger, on the other hand it seems like forever. And to think it all started in 1989 with Max.

Speaking of Max, I keep getting the guy down the street's mail. His house number is the same as mine but it's a different street name. So I go take it to him when I get it. He's about 100 years old, crotchety old guy. I've told him a dozen times anyway that my name is Mike, and he keeps calling me Max. I gave up trying to correct him. So today I get his mail, and I go down to give it to him, and I knock on the door and he sees me through the window and says, is that you Max? I said, yep it's Max. This guy doesn't like anybody, but he likes me. Not sure what that says.

Think I'll hit the sack. I hope I can keep up the moving momentum tomorrow. Along with grocery shopping and ending early to get ready for work. Sheesh.

James - It's misting at the moment & most likely will continue through shotgun tee-time @ 12:30PM, then very slowly letting up. It isn't cold (~52°F), won't be much roll on the ball today (soggy bottoms).

Thanks for the 38/38 encouragement but today's format is Superball so I won't be maintaining my individual scoring. I signed up as an individual so I'll be matched with three others to field a foursome. Some (Most) of the members signed up as teams (foursome). There will be payouts for placement & some say it's not fair if teams can sign up, but my thoughts are it's nothing more than a fun time to play golf using the best shot on each hole. While I like to take the game seriously regarding my own capabilities/abilities, this game is a sport to be enjoyed; as such, screw those who like to bitch & moan - let's have fun.

As you know (I think) I've been a Marshal or Shotlink worker (volunteer) for both PGA and USGA over the past 15 years working many events during that period. I pick my tournaments carefully. Volunteers must pay all expenses to work tournament events (so how is it I'm a Volunteer)!

This year I am a marshal volunteer on the 2022 U.S. Women's Open Championship, Pine Needles, NC. Three days ago I elected to volunteer for the inaugural USGA 2022 U.S. Adaptive Open. I had to think long about committing but I finally decided to commit. I believe it's a fantastic opportunity to create a competitive field of play for physically handicapped (encumbered I prefer to say) individuals to enjoy this sport. We take our physical capabilities/abilities for granted, but many of the less fortunate (encumbered) weren't dealt the same playing field most of us enjoy. So, yep, I'm going to help them out for about one week in July of this year. This is a competitively contested field of play for anyone to enter; however, each individual must "qualify" as in any other USGA Open Championship. There are both Professional & Amateur golfers who have been playing this game for many years and some for less years. Individuals with visual impairments, speech/hearing impairments, loss-of-limb impairments, those afflicted w/ Polio, the list goes on. It's unclear to me exactly how the field of play is established, but it doesn't matter - I'm going to enjoy the very first (inaugural) U.S. Adaptive Open Championship in the history of golf by working for this event. The event will be contested @ Pinehurst #6, Pinehurst, NC.

Many of the questions regarding this event can be found here:
2022 Adaptive Open Volunteer Registration.

I signed up to assist in one of the two categories listed below. I'm hoping to be selected as a Player Assistant - should be a great week in the Sand Hills of NC.

Players Assistant
Volunteers will accompany each group (riding) and assist players, raking bunkers, watching shots/searching for *****, etc. Will require special training prior to the event. (Golf experience required) July 15 - July 20, 2022

Spotter/Forecaddie/On Course Shuttles
Volunteers will assist players spotting - locating golf *****, help manage cart and spectator traffic. On selected holes, volunteers will also be asked to inform players when a fairway is clear for play. Volunteers will assist with spectator congestion, volunteer and player transportation to various destinations on the course and to accompany marquis groups during the round (walking required if selected). (Golf or previous experience required) July 16 - July 20, 2022.

Off shortly to buy some large marshmallows...

James - Thanks, I'll let her know. She usually stays clear of any veneered pieces because of potential issues with stripping or chipping during the resto, but I wasn't sure about it so I went down to the basement to take a closer look. It looks like at least 95% is solid golden oak, the only part I have a question about are the curved (rounded) edges of the mirror frame that may have some veneer. The only reason I think there might be veneer there is the grain looks a little different, but that could be from being milled from a different piece of wood.

Norm that is an awesome pursuit to help out at the golf event.

You may have heard this one..

The golf ranger stopped and asked a foursome of a doctor, lawyer, priest, and an engineer how the day was.

The engineer went on to say it was good except for the foursome ahead of them, they were taking forever and all over the course. The ranger explained "Try to cut them a little slack, that is two of our members hosting a couple firefighters that had lost their eye sight in an accident while fighting a fire at the old clubhouse about 5yrs ago"
The priest handed a business card to the ranger and let him know to pass on his services should the blind men need any counsel, as did the doctor, and the lawyer. The engineer then exclaimed " Can' they just golf at night? "

Have fun today, its already warmed up to 2deg here this am.

Aloha

Pretty today but cold. It had spit rain sometime during the night, so I hope the sun will dry that all up, or I'm not getting into the back yard today. I may not need to, by the time this damn computer finishes updating itself and I get through the grocery store, it will eat up a lot of my day.

So I don't know if you guys remember a few months ago I went to Nowheres, Alabama, to look at a 67 Sunbeam Alpine. I liked the car, it had a lot of potential and was complete, but the guy was a dick and I didn't buy it. That car was for sale for months, on craigslist. Well, it disappeared and I figured the guy made good on his threat that he'd keep it and restore it. I see now that it has reappeared, listed by someone else, for more money, on craigslist. This has got to be the stupidest flipper out there. It didn't sell before at 6K, what makes him think the same car by a different seller is going to sell for 7900? I liked the car, it was the wrong build date for me, but another full project I don't need. I suppose I should have bought it to keep some other jackleg from putting a small block in it and passing it off as a Tiger. Though if I would have done that I wouldn't have been able to buy the Suburban. Eh, who knows.

Alright off to market. Maybe I can get a little bit done today.

Peace

PS Keith you're killing me! When I lived in Illinois when it would get that cold the weather guy would say on the news, don't go outside with contact lenses, they will freeze to your eyes. Sheesh!

Warning Golf joke

Father, grand father and and Grand son are about to tee off on the 1st Hole and up drives a blonde babe who ask if she could join their threesome . Reluctantly, they say Yes

Soon they realize that thew blonde is a really good golfer and she's making par birdie, par birdie on ever hole

When they get to the last hole, She says,

"I'm really nervous I've never shot below 62 on this course. I need some help with my last put. If with some one will help I make it, I'll give you a shot of the best single malt Scotch, You've ever had and the best BJ you've ever had

Grand son jumps up and say, 'I think it's gonna break 2 ***** to the left"

Father steps up and says, " No, Only 1 ball to the left"

Grand father says, " That's a gimme , My place or yours"

I'm not sure why, BUT I despise the way the Greeting Card industry has backed men into a corner virtually forcing them to buy an $8.00 V.D. car that's made in china for 2 cents

But like the dutiful husband I am I [once again ] did it

However, I did see one thing worthwhile pricey but better than a box of candy

No I didn't buy it, I just took a pic

Breaktime. Hell, I need a lobotomy. I hate Walmart.

Speaking of Jeeps, I want a 4 door Wrangler with a hardtop. But, I absolutely hate the padded dumb looking dashes that these Jeeps have. Does anyone know if the original metal one gauge dash is underneath the padded stupid dash? On the surface this might seem like a dumb question, but I know that on the Wagoneer, even though it had several different front ends over the years the base panel they all bolted to was the original piece, and if you took all the grille and stuff off it would look just like an original. So I thought, what the heck, maybe?

Jamesbo I read somewhere, some forum that this couple would go to the store and pick out cards for each other, hand them to them and read them, and then put them back and not buy anything.

Not a lot of time left to get stuff done, so I might just go putter around in the garage. Sun is out but it's cold. I really need to go over and check all my car covers before my shitty neighbor calls the ****'s on me. Again.

I miss my dad's CJ-7. I learned to drive on that thing. It was rusty in 86 (it was a 78). It was rustier in 06. My dad gave it to his mechanic. It sat in his back yard and rusted. The frame rusted in half about 2020 and was given away for parts. I believe it had an AMC 304, a Ford Distributor, a GM Quadrajet, a Jeep pattern TH-400, a Chrysler transfer case, and a lot of redneck repairs. It was harder to get it running than to not get stuck. Quadratrack converted to part time 4 hi. Exhaust rusted out, custom duals, no cats. Mean little thing.

I have a ‘98 Wrangler 2 door with a hard top. 4.0 inline 6, Gale Banks header (replaced the cracked factory manifold), 5 speed manual transmission, 3.73 gears, front Lock Rite and rear factory LSD, 2.5” lift, presently with Goodyear MTR 11.50x32 tires. It’s been a great dependable, capable vehicle. Prolly hasn’t had the back seat in for a decade now as it gets used as the dog mobile a lot.

Kenneth, The only thing I didn't like about my Older CJ 5 was getting blown around at Highway speeds. I used to tow my M 38 A 1 with a CJ 5. I'm sure the paint on the M38 A 1 weighted more than the whole CJ 5 [was young and stupid. VERY Dangerous

Jamesbo, are you dissing the design of the Wrangler? It has the same aerodynamic features as a shoe box.

The worst I experienced was I-10 near Quartzite with 75 MPH speed limit (which means traffic going 85) down a steep grade into the river valley with strong cross winds (ADOT has warming signs posted).

Just finished mowing the grass and spraying weeds, so now it’s time to wash the dogs. After that I’ll sear some animal flesh on the char pit and consume mass quantities.

Dang it’s warming up a bit too much for this early in the year.

Two words - cold & rainy. I spent five hours in cold (42°F) & rainy. NNE wind @ 14mph. Cold & rainy for five hours. I began dropping some fake golf ***** (large marshmallows), but I lost interest after several holes - cold, windy & rainy. Very surprisingly I shot a very good round of golf. I spent 20 minutes in a hot shower when I got home.

Kenneth looks to me like the dog is in the front seat. I got to thinking, the current Chrysler inspired Jeep is not the same body as the CJs of yesteryear. So it probably doesn't have the original dash under the current dash. I could rip and tear and weld in the metal dash. Or I could get one of the other Jeeps that's the chrome looking teal that I like and not worry about it at all. Bet that color would look good on a Valiant...

I like the Chevy G vans. Eighties and early 90s are my favorite. I knew a guy who called that body style "the brick." Hm, can't imagine why.

I think I'm gonna pass on green **** and fried okra. No reason.

Okay it's past my bedtime. Hope this week goes well. No reason it shouldn't.

This is the Jeep I like. I'd give it a thin olive pinstripe.

Good evening guys,

Looks like everyone has had a pretty nice day, although it sounds like Norm could have used some more warmth out on the links. Wife and I went over to my oldest daughter's house this afternoon to visit and give her her birthday present, she turns 30 this coming Wednesday. It was nice to visit and spend time with the grandkids.

Currently watching the Super Bowl, but even as big a football fan as I am, I ain't feeling it. I just can't get excited about either team. Food has been better than the game. Wanted something simple to eat during the game and hadn't had a good sandwich in awhile!

Blackforest ham, Genoa salami, Baby swiss, tomato, Miracle Whip, on Pumpernickel rye. It really hit the mark!

For dessert, Marie Callender's blueberry pie with natural vanilla bean ice-cream.

Well I'm full, maybe time for a nap!

Chris - I'm not feeling the Super Bowl. 'Ozark' sounds far more interesting. I finally found a grocery store who stocks that Razzleberry pie. Both times they were out of stock.
