Jamesbo, do you put any ethanol treatment in your gas to prevent things from getting mucked up?

I try to remember to bring home from de mountains non ethanol gas. There's a station up there that sells alot of gas for boats.

One friend says. "Before ya put it up, Run a saw til it's empty" and anutter friend says," If ya do that it's also empty of oil"

I dunno

Good morning everyone.

Last day of class! It has been a decent class, but a long week. Hope we finish up early this afternoon. After today I have four days off.

Jamesbo the saw is out of oil because the oil is in the gas. I wouldn't be too concerned about it, since if it doesn't have gas, it isn't going to run, no need for the oil. Of course you have to keep up with the bar oil. You're right, even after all these years of ethanol gas, the small engines people still are using fuel line and carb parts that are affected by the ethanol. Planned obsolescence I guess.

Okay gotta go get this thing over with. Happy Friday everyone. Hm, it's my Friday along with everyone else's. That doesn't happen very often.

Got to the shop at ten to 5 this morning. Getting further and further behind. Installed a Reman tranny in a F250 and have no 2nd gear. Get to do it again, just what I needed. So I'll come in this weekend and get it pulled.

John thats a lovely 64 Tbird. Dad had one when I was a kid. Loved the wraparound rear seats.

Gotta get an alignment done before we open, have a weekend all

Sauna is warming up, and im drinking beer and brandy.

Last week has been a torture. Windy, cold cold & cold, + constant snow/water raining has kept us wet for whole week. It felt like that week would never end. And still atleast one more week to go, no luck getting retired this friday. Gah..

Have a good weekend everyone, ill go sauna, and then to sleep. Catch you tomorrow.

Kwik' check-in. Anudder mild, muggy, dry one in da' swamp. Spent 2.5 hrs. cleaning the Fusion yesterday -- not that it needed it.

Better half returns from IL manana, so that means HOUSE CLEANING (car cleaning of course comes first).

Hope all have a great weekend.

Have a nice saturday everyone.

Didnt mean it that way, tho i quess you know it

Im having thrilling times since im jumping from our Company to another, who does business with my current Company, that one being sub-contractor and buyer to one im planning to jump.
Can bet my boss wont like it, but he cant most likely do anything in fear of what does that big Company think about him if he does something nasty, since hes pretty much at that companys mercy.
Its just time to move on, due to personal reasons, and theres signs at air ( been for long) that when the current owner, whos almost 70, leaves the Company handling to his son, that Company will come down crumbling. Better to hop before it happens.

+ I got more salary per year. Win-win.

Good morning everyone.

Oh how nice it was to sleep in this morning, and not get roused by the alarm at 5am. Been slow to get moving this morning. That's okay.

Think I'll go work at the shop this afternoon. Got many things that need doing, as usual.

John hope Better Half had a safe trip home and a good visit.

Okay getting going. Have a good weekend everyone.

Mernin', all. Nip in the air was very pleasant this mernin... mid-50s, but humidity down at least for a few hours. Spose to hit 80s again today.

Thanks, Mike. BTW, did you ever mention a (WWII vintage) Dodge Command Car to me? You've mentioned so many military vehicles to me at one time or another, & get most of 'em jumbled in my poor brain.

Whelpt, it da' broom, mop, and dust cloth for me now.

Clint, been enjoyin' yer FB posts. I kinda' need to stop & translate some of it, but I'm sure lotsa' folks say that about my posts as well.

Have a great Saturday, Olds pals.

Morning all.

Haven't posted for a while. Busy busy.
London is bathed in a blanket of fog this morning so the chilly weather will hit us soon, but I'm still in a t shirt and shorts for a few more days.
Still working on my friends Daewoo Korando and I'm still trying to think if there is a worse car that's ever been made, today's problem is with the alarm and immobiliser as in I cant get the fu@@er to even start.

British summer time ended yesterday so the clocks go back one hour which I forgot about and I ended up waiting for the shops to open at the usual Sunday time of 10am but in reality it was still only 9am.

It can only get better.

Good morning everyone.

Beautiful, beautiful morning. A bit chilly but it should warm up.

Spent all afternoon yesterday taking the roof apart on the lean-to at the shop. I had pulled out the posts and let it fall against the side of the hangar, and finally got it all apart. I'm going to clean up on the side of the hangar and plant some grass.

London did you ever find a place in Spain? When does the tribunal start up again?

John I don't right off recall mentioning a Dodge Command Car, but that doesn't mean I didn't. Are you going to buy one?

Gonna get moving. Have a good Sunday everyone.

Mernin', all. Nice day in da' Swamp, but like my GA brethren, we could stand some rain.

Saints vs. Seahawks at Noon CDST in da' Dome. Should at least be a good game, hopefully. I'm predickin' a narrow victory for the Boys in Black.

Mike, I don't recall ever hearing of them before, but they seem to be pretty cool. No, I'm not buying one, but am thoroughly enjoying the documentation of a TOTAL restoration of a COMPLETE rust bucket of one of these behemoths (found in CO -- no doubt in Clint's neighborhood) in a Velocity series (now included with Amazon Prime) called Reality Rides.

Carl's Custom Cars in Red Oak, TX, is doing the restoration for a CA vintner (Jordan Winery) that apparently has money to burn. This guy has planes, hangers, acres & acres of vineyards, and of course, a huge winery. There's no way the work on the Command Car is anything close to under 6 figures.

Whether you like Carl (the owner) or not, at least judging by the finished products and the show, he does some sweet work. The first season they did a '55 Buick Special basket case, restored to better than showroom. 2nd season is this Command Car along with a '40 Lincoln Zephyr.

I highly recommend the series to any gear-head or or restoration buff. But be warned: watching one episode is like trying to eat one Lay's potato chip. And Mike, you can even watch episodes on line (free).

So.... after spending way too much time here as usual, GTG. Have a great Sunday, Olds mates.

Afternoon all.

John, Thanks. Which ones. Mostly I've just been sharing stuff.

I took the air bags out of Brit and gave her a butt lift with some spring spacers. I'll try to post a pic.

Enjoy the leftovers of the weekend.

London, we switch to daylight savings time next weekend. Clint, your car looks sweet. I agree with your facebook buddy, bring the front up a bit to level it out. Jamesbo, ya left Reddog! John, your Saints won, can't say the same for the mediocre Lions. A co worker started growing pumpkins five years ago, here's a pic of this years results. The big one is 624 lbs, the small one is 300 lbs. Time to get the groceries.

Kwik' mernin', all... Nice one here in da' Swamp -- 59 deg. F -- quite pleasant. However, headed to near 90 during next couple afternoons before anudder cool-down just in time for losing Daylight Saving Time Saturday night. Personally, I like the dark mornings AND the dark evenings. But that figures...always want something I can't have.

Have a good requiem today, Jamesbo. Clint, I'm a purist (and a contrarian), so I'd be looking for the car to be just slightly lower in the back to match the factory stance. But she sure is perdy! Striking color. How did she get her name, BTW? You've prolly said it before here, but I must've been looking out the window.

Whelpt, I think I'm gonna' buy a cheap-O parts washer from Harbor Freight today. I had one before Katrina that worked fine, although the pump went out after a year (like clockwork). But I just put a better one back in it. Really need something for all those suspension components. Thought I'd just use a big tub, but it didn't work out too good yesterday.

Y'all have a great week, Olds troops.

Hi everyone.

Spent more time in the parking lot talking at the Awful house this morning than I did inside eating my breakfast. Eh, we solved a lot of things.

Beautiful here. It could stay like this all winter I wouldn't mind a bit. Noon and it's just now hit 70. It will probably be close to 80 by the end of the afternoon.

Clint any more pictures like that and I'll have to switch my favorite over to the 67s. There was a guy driving around here in a 65 four door that had Cutlass wheels and raised letter tires. The front and the back were about the height of your car in the back. It was just mean looking. It went up for sale on craigslist and I thought he wanted too much, but it sold in like two days. Hm.

Dan that's a lot of pie.

Summit cruise in tonight, last one of the season. Don't know if I can talk my neighbor into going in the Camaro or not. Haven't talked to him in a few days.

Well have a good day everyone, the pressure is off. Monday has started the rest is down hill.

Hello,

Been busy. I do like Clint's ride, but I like 67s already. Maybe mine will be that nice some day. Nice weekend here, I bought a metal detector as an agent for my friend and met up with him and his wife to give it to them and get paid and spent half the weekend.

Gave notice on my apartment on Friday. Most of my stuff is moved, but there's a good amount left, and I'll use a mover for the heavy and big things. House is close enough to done I can move in. Moved two pickup loads yesterday of things like bureaus and bookshelves.

Hi everyone.

Just got back from the junkyard. Didn't spend as much time at the Awful house this morning, everyone had to scurry off. Nothing of note in the junkyard today, thought there were about two dozen Cavaliers, which there usually aren't any.

Yet another beautiful day. We may not get rain ever again, which would suit me just fine. Gonna work on cars this afternoon.

Not much else. Last day off. I haven't been to work in almost two weeks. It will seem like a new job.

Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Mornin all.

I like the rake on her but I think It's a little too much. I may shave down the spacers just a little bit.

John, I don't care for how low they sat from the factory. but with the right tires and wheels it would be ok I guess. Ner name? Britney? I named her after Britney Spears. Why? Because she sure is pretty and nice to look at, but if you start digging you can sure see she have some issues.

Have a Humpday all.

Still mild and dry as a popcorn phart

Inline, I'm curious, What's your favorite kind of dud suds?

Mike, 1] When you took down part of your hanger doesn't that make it smaller? You sure dat's a good idear? How's the grass gonna grow w/o rain?

John, Not to get too political but I hope every single one of those over payed NFL players ends up in the bread line. Then they could protest on an empty stomach.

Clint, Do you remember Richard's build thread ? His car [I think he sold it] looked alot like yours. If I remember correctly he lowered his spindles and supposedly, it cornered like a roller coaster. I remember he took Rob for a ride and it would out run it's lights.

Welp, Got a family coming GTg

Hi everyone.

Today I've owned my first car for 32 years. It ain't much of a car these days but I still have it nonetheless. Being a rusty 4 door everyone made fun of it, because you know, they all drove the latest in exotics, but the scoffing stopped the first time I spanked a Corvette dragging between lights.

The beautiful days continue. Jamesbo I suppose you want rain because it would be hard to tout a green cemetery that is brown. Wish I would have done something outside today, but I slept until noon and then did nothing. Read a bunch of old newspapers that are destined for the burn pile.

The hangar at my shop is still 30x45. An afterthought was a roof that was added on the side of the building, and that roof had plenty of holes in it and the structure was iffy. I didn't want to park anything under it for fear it would come down during a storm. So I'll clean up the remnants of the roof and have a nice looking spot in the yard. If the grass doesn't grow I'll plant Astroturf.

Work tonight. Hope things haven't changed too much. It will be nice to see some of the guys again, we have a good time.

Okay. Happy Hump Night to everyone.

Jamesbo. I assume you are talking about Gearhead78? I think that was a bit before my time. but it looked good how his sat. I'm looking for a little different stance than that. I like enough height to be sure to clear the stupid speed bumps and curbs going into and out of parking lots and such. Proper grading seems to be a forgotten art. I also am wanting to put some drag mags on her but I haven't found any for a sane price. I did find some 15x6 but those are a little more narrow than I want and the guy is very proud of them so much he wont price them on his page.

Heading to Fl tonight so I'll catch you all next week some time.
