Good morning everyone.

Gonna be nice here, too. Don't have too much to do. Well, too much that needs doing immediately.

One of our favorite members Jamesbo? Glad I'll be up there, too.

Okay time to hit the bricks. Have a good day everyone. It's Friday.

Morning

Jim, enjoy the mountains. I bet the trees are going to look spectacular. Are they starting to change down there? Up here the leaves are all changing to gold. They look pretty but sadly it's also a sign of fall arriving as time marches on.

Clint, hope the race is fun. It's really nice that you and the missus still love going on dates. I think a lot of folks fall out of that with their busy lifestyles and time commitments. I get what you mean about dealing with the public, some of their expectations are enough to make anyone wish for a secluded life. I bermember when the electronic world didn't exist. I think it's important nowadays to keep a balance between social media and real life.

Paul, you know missing a day isn't all that important, we all look forward to whenever you drop in. Glad to hear the tendinitis is on the mend. I'm guessing the problem is with your left foot?

John, walks outs are good for the soul. I wish I had a retreat like you and Jim. Enjoy your e cleansing.

Ted, how's the adventure with the vert going? Do you think it's going to drive before the snow? I know you're a man with talent so I wouldn't be surprised to see that baby with a new coat and shoes before long.

Still no sun, I guess it'll be overcast again today. Not much a body can do about it though. Enjoy your day.

Good evening everyone.

The drive to work went well today so I decided to take the Mustang to a local cruise night this evening.

As I was pulling into the parking lot I saw the perfect place to park. Nice row of modern Pony cars.

Attachment 157968

The weather was great for an evening drive with the windows down.

Clint hope you enjoyed the race.

Allan, I know one day doesn't matter, but in the past one day turned into 2 then 3, ... So I'm trying to avoid that.

And yes it is my left foot. The Mustang is a manual but luckily the Oldsmobiles are automatics.

Mike, you don't want a rare Chrysler?

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Worm

Nice Stangs, I've got a high school bud who stilll has his 66 fast back. Can't tell ya how many miles and hours we spent cruising in it

Welp, De super model took my phone cord outa my overnite bag [cause she couldn't find hers on de floor board of her car under the pile of curlers, newspapers and 3 week old french fries] so I took off to de mountains sans charger. Now I get de opportunity to drive 25 miles to de nearest civilization to get another [in case a family needs me]

Glad John's on a sabatical cuase I may fetch me up a plate of fried chicken from his favorite diner while I'm on dat side of de lake.

Den, I gotta meet Mike to see if he wants any of my junk hidden on Chimney mountain. Hope he not offended and wastes a trip

Have a great weekend Olds friends

Mornin,

Muggy here today....

Nice mustang Paul!

Allan, the vert has its road test today!. Thanks for all your support since I became addicted..when I start something I always finish it...which sometimes is a bad trait to have. My Restos are more like saves, they are not perfect but I bring em back to life.

Mike...a Vette? What year?

Have a day everyone

Good morning everyone.

Ah, my last day off. It seems like I've been off forever. But when I get back to work tomorrow night it will feel like I never left.

Paul that looks like a magazine shot, all three cars like that. I didn't realize the Mustang was the smallest of the three.

Ted I have a 78 Pace Car. Looks good from 10 feet away, looks awful close up. When I had it painted the body shop introduced some electrical gremlin into it and the battery will discharge in less than 8 hours. I've gone over that car with a fine tooth comb and can't figure it out.

Time to get going. Quick stop at the Awful house then head up to a nice lake. Jamesbo you underestimate how much I like junk.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Jamesbo you're killing me. Yes I made it. Did I have any doubts..........? I kept it under 60 and got to the shop and to the house by 630. A couple of the tires were too hot to touch but still intact. Do you know if there's a reason the surge brake isn't hooked up?

Dogs were sure glad to get out of their room. I knew it would be nice all day but being that far away and for so long that was the best place for them. They wolfed down their supper and now are outside hunting around in the brush. Beautiful evening out I hope they stay out awhile in the fresh air.

Well gotta stay up ultra late tonight so I can sleep in tomorrow. The cycle starts up again. Have a good evening everyone.

Good evening everyone.

Nice cloudy and rainy day here It was good to kind of be forced into staying inside and taking it easy.

Jamesbo, the early fastback Mustangs are really starting to grow on me.

I have 2 chargers just for myself!

Sammy, how did the road test go today?

Mike, if only there wasn't a light pole there! The spot was open as I drove up so why not?

And I thought the same thing when I was looking at the pic. I looked up the dimensions on Wikipedia and it looks like the Mustang is only a couple of inches narrower. I wonder if the fact the Challenger and Camaro have more flat sides all the way to the front as opposed to the narrowed nose of the Mustang has something to do with it?

Scot I was going to wish you a Happy Birthday when it was mentioned about a week ago in case I forgot. Guess what I did. Is it too late?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Navel hasn't changed from last year, Oldsmofriends. Wonderful get-away. I wish everybody had the opportunity and took advantage of it.

Jamesbo, iffin' you'da gone to Dillard House, I don't know if I could have handled it. Let's rendezvous there after Thanksgiving. BTW, hopin' you didn't have to revert to the French fries on Supermodel's floorboard.

Mike, why were the tires so hot? Trailer overloaded?

Hope the roundy-round's were the hot ticket, Clint! Sounds like a nice evening.

Whelpt, as usual, I have ump-teen things to do since I'm back home. BTW, mercury done shot up like crazy down here; saw 97* on the way home this afternoon...

Have a great rest o'day o'Sun, Oldsmofriends.

Hi everyone.

Good day of sleeping. Got to bed around 330, got up around 2. Of course there were the standard interruptions.

Scot come on up. Not off weekends now for a few weeks but give me a shout when you have some time and want to take a drive.

John I'm not sure why they were so hot. I'm guessing partly age, and they were probably underinflated. They look like 8 ply's so it's hard to tell if they are low. The lift parts were heavy as can be for a person, but as a load on the trailer it probably barely noticed it. Glad you had a good reprieve.

Well guess what time it is. Time for work. I tell you what, being off a week or better sure does a body good. Haven't heard a thing from anyone since I've been off, it could be a whole different company when I get back tonight.

Have a good evening everyone. Happy Monday coming up.

Mornin all.

The races were a bust. literally. the car kept popping out of gear under load. He didn't even make to the main.

He got home and fixed that. Then went to Kansas for a national. He was geared too low and popped the motor.

Have a day.

Mornin,

Paul, the road test went well. After doing a burnout, the 455 was stuck at 2500 rpm. I shut it off , and after a few min cranked it over and it had returned to a normal idle. Apparently the Holley is notorious for the floats sticking after sitting for awhile....really pleased with the car overall

Allan, I assume it is your anniversary.....if so I am sure you know what to do

Jim, now I am in the dark

Clint, what race?

Have a day

Good morning
Thank you. It was Saturday actually. Appreciate all the kind words and likes on FB.

Have fun whackin whitey Jim. Looks like you guys are going to have stellar day temperature wise. Any progress on saving the trees and repositioning of the turn lane?

Clint, sorry to hear about the race. I doubt that would spoil your date night or weekend though.

Ted, I'm glad to help you with anything I can. It was nice to see the Vert come alive. What's your timeline on paint, and did you finally decide on a color?

Paul, great pic of the cars. I bet you the production stands today will likely be the collector ones in 30 years. You planning to keep yours that long? Seems that Your MT might give it an edge with the performance crowd. I like the look of the Challenger beside you better than the Camaro.

Scot, a vacation is always a nice thing. I thought about the keys and looked how they were linked on google maps. Maybe one day I'll get to visit Bogarts Key Largo.

John, a rest from tech world is always refreshing. Enjoy the heat, that's too much for me.

Hi everyone.

Good day for sleeping. First day of Fall. That's not terrific. It only means winter is looming.

Scot my days off change every week. This week I'm off Wednesday-Thursday-Friday, but next week I'm off Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday. I'm hoping that changes in January, but I should be careful what I wish for. The underlying rumor is that we could go back to a 5 and 2 and that would seriously suck.

Come on Ted don't listen to these guys. A Red Neck Riviera is a Buick painted up like the General Lee. Geez, where's Darrell when I need him?

Clint sounds like your friend needs some better luck. Did you ever hear back from that guy with the convertible you sent to Missouri? How'd he like it?

Okay off to work. Wasn't too bad last night, things drug out a little too long for my liking but at least there wasn't any drama. No telling what tonight brings. Eh, it all pays till 7.

Have a good night everyone.

One of my favorite car venues, the Gilmore Car Museum was featured on "Car Crazy" on the Velocity network, if you want to see why I love the place, it's airs again at 2:00am tonight (tomorrow morning) and again at a more reasonable time, Sunday at 9:00am.

Mornin all. Slept in til 4.

Mike, I haven't heard from him recently, he did end up putting a smaller steering wheel on it so he could drive it. even with the seat track extensions he couldn't quite fit behind the wheel. The last I talked to him he was not real healthy.

Allan, The wife would have rather not been there. She was cold, and the new track lacks some creature comforts like chairs or decent concessions. It made for a late nite not getting home til close to midnight.

Scot have a good mini vacation.

Jamesbo, hope you whacked the snot out of it.

Ted, the kid who works for me races in the local 305 sprint car series. he made a mess of that little small block. there are windows on either side of the oil pan.

Have a day all.

Good morning everyone.

Cool and overcast, and has been all night. I thought we were supposed to get rain at some point but we didn't, and that's okay.

Not a bad night as far as work goes. We started out putting a plane back together that dayshift was working on, then we had lunch and afterward parked a plane we'd been waiting on and then found out we had an engine change dropped on us. So a few of us went to work on it. Seems a 757 was parking at the gate and the left engine sucked in the AC hose. Made quite a mess of the engine and inlet. Not something you see every day, and there were people stopping by all night long to see it.

Scot a weekend on the beach sounds nice. I've got family in Pensacola and all the times I've been down there, we've never gone to the beach. Hm.

Clint that reminds me of when my buddy threw a rod through the oil pan on his ancient Cavalier. He said he was driving along and all of a sudden the car made an expensive noise. He pulled over and hitched to work. I went with him later with my trailer and I said, do you think it will run enough to get up on the trailer? He started it up and it sounded like marbles in a coffee can. I crawled under to hook up the straps and he said, can you see anything? I said yep, I think I found the problem. Two inch hole in the side of the oil pan.

Okay so I just let the dogs in, and I was wondering why all of a sudden the screen door wouldn't slide very well. Closed the door and turned around and a 14" black snake falls out of the upper track. Not something I was expecting. So I gently placed a boot on him so he couldn't get away and grabbed a flashlight. He had round eyes and I've heard that means not poisonous, so I put on gloves and picked him up and took him down to the yard and told him to not come back up. Not sure what he was doing in the screen door track but I hope he doesn't try to repeat it.

Okay and with that I'm going to bed. Tonight is Friday. Got some potentially good news at work tonight, hope to find out more in the coming days. Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Chilly morning.

It's a brisk 33 here this morning which mean frost on all the roofs. My dahlias got hit along with some of the others. Time to clean em out I guess. Spoda be real windy today.

Sorry to hear date night wasn't as much fun for her Clint.

Good luck with the meeting Jim. Is it even close to a solution?

Scot, I don't think Joe P likes what we refer to as special order cars he seems to want everyone to call them built to order. Does it even matter?

Dan I don't get velocity here. I did google it though. It looks like they offer quite a selection of automotive history.

Afternoon

Guess my post from am went to lala land...

New Internet provider...see how it goes...

Clint,do you sponsor the kid or just help when things break?

Allan, thanks. Paint by early next week. Some type of darker blue...with some metallic flake in it

Jim, the only time I am not in the dark is when I talk to my Labrador

Mike, like your definition better than Scot's...it is only the panhandle? Fort Myers would not be included?

Hi everyone.

Good day for sleeping. Overcast and coolish today and just now the sun is trying to peek out. Hopefully it stays this nice all night.

Ted that's funny. My other German Shepherd, whom I had until he was 16, would just gaze soulfully at me when I'd talk to him. It was like he was hanging on my every word. Only trouble was, he never replied. Maybe that was a good thing.

And now, work. It's Friday. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Mornin all.

Mike hope the news at work pans out. Do you guys have snake encounters year round? or does it get cold enough they go away for the winter?

Allan, It's too dang early for that cold of weather. We had measurable snow on the peaks the other day. And the Leaves are going thru a rapid change. Feels different this year. Maybe they are right about this El Nino winter and whats in store.

Jamesbo, At least you got your moneys worth at the links.

Ted, I help him when I can, but even the 305 cars are too rich for my blood. He's got his eye on a slightly used motor for $6K but he wants to get his torn down to see how bad his is and if there is anything salvageable.

Well the coon trap was empty this mornin. I guess I'll need to throw a little Peanut butter in the cup along with the dog food. The wife had 2 more damaged mouse traps yesterday. That brings it up to 7 or 8 total traps damaged/missing in the past couple weeks. Looks like we need to set out some rat traps for the squirrels too.

Have a humpday all.

First day of Fall - promises to be a good one. Leaves are gold although some of the trees are done and look barren.

Jim, hope the new mower isn't lame. Walk away if it's a Kohler engine. De supermodel still has de cast of Rocky hanging around? Dat is strange.

Clint, yes sir I agree but I don't have any clout with weather Gods it seems. Rained here 3 times yesterday and windy. Made it feel colder than it was. Chilly one today too but should be nicer later. IDK whether to believe the El Niņo thing or not. It would be pretty devastating if the lack of moisture predicted came true. I wouldn't mind the milder weather though.

Ted, that sounds like it will look great especially with the white top.

Koffee time.
