I gotta go fire up the grill, I have two slabs of baby back ribs to grill, and then throw in the oven overnight, I put a rub on 'em 24 hours ago, every time I open the fridge....it smells great!

Good morning everyone.

You know, I'm no stranger to 0'Dark Thirty, but when I'm home and the alarm wakes me up, it's a strange feeling.

I had thought about stopping at the Awful house on the way to the airport, but then I thought better about it. I think I'll grab some pop at the gas station on my way up and maybe a snack, and hold out for lunch.

Sandy that sounds cheep to have a tree taken down. I have a tree a little too close to the house that needs to come down, and I'm guessing it will cost me 1000.

Well play safe everyone and have a great day. I'll be home tomorrow, "Good Lord willing and the Creeks don't rise."

Mawn'in all

Rain'in like de cow on de flat rock. Most of de firewerks display an parties have been canceled or posponed cause of thunderboomers.

But not de Super models company get together. De have a 4th of July party every year at Lanier Islands on Lake Lanier. [my idea of hell on earth.]

I wouldn't go on a bet much less during dis kinda weather.

Mike, I'm begining to worry 'bout you. You drive 50 miles fer a pizza, like to shop fer tires and say "pop" If you live in Hotlanta ya know it's a COKE.

Sandy $450 sound cheep to me to [unless he steals your car]

Welp, It's day 9 and still haven't murdered anyone yet. I did get cramps in both legs last nite at de same time. Dat was a wierd first. An de psycodelic dreams continue in tehcnicolor.

Dis is de 1st 4th I've spent in a long time w/o my old pal Marlboro. He sure is missed. Guess I'll jes sit inside and watch de rain.

Happy Independence Day All!! And thanks for all the veterans and active duty that keeps ours freedom alive and well today.

Yet another round of gulley washers today Sorry Sandy but I'd rather have too much rain than continue the drought we have had the last few years. I was beginning to think lake Lanier and Allatoona was going to become a couple of big skate parks like an old empty pool

Well hopefully the rain will subside by the weekend as there are a few car shows and a cruise in or two that I would like to attend.

Thanks again all for the compliments on my article Jamesbo she ain't much to look at right now just ask Mike, but you are more than welcome to come take a gander anytime my friend.

Whelp I hope everyone has a great and safe 4th

I join Paul in wishing you all a happy July 4th Independence Day. (IMO Independence Day should be re-allocated to the day when y'all are free of debt and can retire with money to spend). Naw - that'll never fly.

John, Jim, Scot, Mike, Dan, Paul - thank you.

Good evening everyone.

Another night spent working on the Cutlass. I just want to drive it again! I am getting closer.

Scot, that is a great article. And sounds like a really nice car. I'd like to see those colours in person.

Too bad you can't order cars like you used to. "Just give me these specific options" would have been nice with the Mustang. Like the fact that the cheapest V8 Mustang is about $12k more than a high trim level V6 Not that I really wanted a V8.

Mike, ignore Jamesbo. I'm trying to think of a reason to drive an hour for pasta.

Have a great Friday!

Thanks Paul, you as well as all my friends here, have an open invite to the humble shop of mine, anytime. And the good thing is that I am just 10-15 mins off the beaten path halfway through Georgia on the way to Florida.

It would be nice but even back then, the average Joe couldn't order just anything as I have learned my whole life with the Cutlass. But luckily it fell the way it did with the rarity of the options it was born with and ordered as such. Mostly because the '72 Cutlass Supreme hardtop coupe is the '72 model year "heavy weight" so to say because it was the most produced model of that year with Olds, and this one being truly a one of a kind, makes everything worth all the more reason to get her back road worthy and original as possible.

From Setting the Pace, 1972 Olds A-body production was as follows:

F-85 town sedan: 3,792
Cutlass town sedan: 38,893
Cutlass hardtop coupe: 37,790
Cutlass 2-seat Cruiser station wagon: 7,979
Cutlass S sports coupe: 4,141
Cutlass S hardtop coupe: 78,461
Cutlass Supreme hardtop sedan: 14,995
Cutlass Supreme hardtop coupe: 105,087
Cutlass Supreme convertible: 11,571
Vista Cruiser 2-seat wagon: 10,573
Vista Cruiser 3-seat wagon: 21,340

Just think if the special order fell through for some reason, there would've been only 105,086 Cutlass Supremes built in '72

Good morning all. Hope everyone had a nice and safe 4th.

Allan, glad to see you in here again.

Paul, how much more before you can drive the cutlass again?

Mike, its funny you use the term pop(which is/was common out west) and I use 'Soda' which is common for out east. As far a the suicidal thoughts. yes they were there, but they weren't 'pressing' thoughts if you know what I mean. Its not like it was a driving have to 'git'er done' type of thought, more like a blase' "huh, well I could turn left in front of this dump truck' type of passing thought. Its weird stuff.

Scott how would you have liked to be the person who tries to put the orders thru, and had to know which RPO code could be ordered on which vehicle, and then have to do it with all of the other vehicle lines as well?

Sandy, sorry to hear about the rain ruinin the chick-fil-a run.

Well, I ran to the shop with brittney yesterday morning, so I could evacuate the A/C. (My compressor at the house isn't big or strong enough to pull a good vacuum). I got her all charged up, we'll see how long that lasts. She gets warm if I'm caught in traffic. I need to find a better fan clutch. But we were cranking out some good vent temps
Attachment 169687

I also changed the rear shocks too. I'll have to write that up as well. The ones it calls for are too long and let the springs fall out. But I came home got her washed up and took her up to Netties Uncle for the 4th get together. it was ok, then we left early to go do chores over at the stables. started blowing and spitting rain, enough to put spots all over her, and the barn swallows bombed her on the hood and the rear window. Had to get that cleaned off before putting her back in the garage. I think I'll take her to the shop tomorrow and put the 'TV made EZ' kit in and throw an alignment on her again.

Have a great day all.
Jamesbo, I feel for you. Keep it up. It'll be worth it. Just keep your wits about you.

Morning All!

Cloudy, rainy, muggy and temps in the 60's right now. Calling for storms later. It's looking rainy clear in to next Thursday.....

It was a cloudy yucky day yesterday too. Had sprinkles on and off several times. Cleared up towards dark, but I didn't go see any fireworks. Too tired to drive all the way to Newton Falls and back. Took Lin home around 9:30. The neighbors were setting off some fireworks, but not the big beautiful ones. Maybe next year.

I remember well where I was 21 years ago at this time, lol. In labor, thinking I was dying!!! Went to the hospital about this time and spent all day in pain and she finally showed up after 7 pm.

Our office complex parking lot is empty today. So were most of the other ones. I think most have today off. Hardly any traffic this morning driving in. I came in to work - not a good day to stay home, and Nicole has plans anyhow.

We had a good cook out yesterday The poke tenderloin was tender and delicious!! Ate way too much. Had cake and ice cream for Nicole. Her and Matt left after 6 to go see fireworks.

Larry and I moved the bricks away from the dead tree yesterday so those guys wouldn't be tripping over them when they come to cut it down. I don't know if they'll come today or not. We have hostas all around the tree and bricks circling it. I think the ants killed the tree. Tons and tons of black ants under the bricks with thousands of tunnels going into the dirt. The were hauling their eggs into those tunnels when we moved the bricks! It was rather creepy, lol. We shall see.

Nicole has to go get her license renewed today, lol. She has that working interview at Macedonia vet at 10:30. I'm still hoping Twinsburg vet calls her. I think she'd like working there.

So... I was watching TV Wednesday night about 11:30 and all of a sudden the screen goes blue and 'no signal' starts bouncing around on it. I figured it was weather related even though it wasn't raining at home.... Larry turns the TV on yesterday and 'no signal" is still bouncing around on the screen. So he calls Direct TV and they said our box hard drive crashed and burned. There went the last 2 episodes of the Swamp People, over 100 Gilad workouts, 3 episodes of Southland, The Glades, and several other things we had recorded. I'm just sick about it. No way to get the shows off of that box. They have to send us a new box. So I gotta see if I can watch the Swampers on my computer to see the finale, lol. And I'm hoping Gilad is still on so I can start recording workouts again. That just sucks...

Jamesbo... some car shows have rain dates. Most are 'rain or shine'. The one on Saturday in Ravenna has a rain date of Sunday, but it's looking like rain chances then too. If we just got light sprinkles like yesterday, that would be ok. It's when we have the hard rains and the roads get shi*ty that I hate to be out in it. Who knows what it's gonna be like... I'll call Joe Saturday morning depending on the weather and ask him if he's having the show or not. Wish he'd move it to the weekend of the 20th - I don't have anything lined up that week end.

Well I guess I better do something. Only had 1 phone call so far. You all have a good Friday that seems like Monday, lol!

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone still has all their fingers. Had a good time in Florida. Saw some excellent fireworks. Had a wonderful cookout. No trouble flying.

Gonna run a couple errands this morning then go pick up the dogs. I hope they didn't hear any fireworks. That place is loud anyway. Not raining here now but who knows what it will do later.

Well gotta get moving, I'll catch up with everyone later.

Good Evening Everyone.

Glad it's Friday.

Scot, I may just take you up on that offer sometime during a winter

Mike, glad to hear you had a good time in Florida.

Sandy, the parking lots here were somewhat empty too and yesterday wasn't even a holiday.

Clint, the only thing I really need is to install the gauges and calibrate the speedometer. But for night driving I need to replace some of the headlight buckets. I also need to install the new temp sensor for the new gauge. Maybe put a new set of spark plug wires on. Install a clutch fan, adjust the carpet, put interior panels back in, ... Just a few small things

Morning all. Jamesbo, keep at it. You can do it. (And you may as well have something to show for all the weird dreams.) Curious, as to how you knew it was chili.

Paul, Getting close then? I'm taking Brittney to the shop today to finish up on my short list.

Mike, Gettin kinda antsy waiting to see the vert.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Better get to it.

Happy weekend everyone.

Jamesbo you have some pretty specific dreams. Glad you're doing so well kicking the habit. Just don't turn left in front of any dump trucks.

Clint I'm going next Friday to pick up the convertible. I'm actually getting a little annoyed by the guy. He asks me what time I will be there, then says oh let me check on what I'm doing. Why didn't he just tell me what he was doing and then we'd come up with a time? I think he used to be a doctor so he's used to being like that.

Paul won't be long now. Then you can break down the Delta and redo it.

I see that the blue underlined words are creeping back into the posts. Last time there was an uproar about it I did what someone suggested and blocked them. I hope I can find where those instructions were.

Sandy I hope Nicole had a nice birthday. When I turned 21 I was sitting in a dull summer school science class.

Scot I'd say your car is better looking than anything I have. You need to get it going so you can give us all rides.

Allan you guys don't have any sort of Independence Day? What about the 4th of July, do you have that?

Okay gotta head out to the Awful house. At the rate I'm going I might be in time for lunch. Then I'm going to hunt around for my metal sheets some more. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Evening All!

Hot and humid here today, after a cloudy sprinkling start. Temps up to 88 degrees and humidity up there too. Had thunderstorms tonight around 8:00.

The show for the Portage County Protective League was nice. Not too many cars to begin with, since it was so cloudy and sprinkling some, but as the morning cleared, the cars rolled in. I think I heard there were 140 cars there. They got lots of donations for the animals! I really wanted to buy this beautiful orange kitten and bring home, lol. But I knew Larry would kill me if I did. I would have actually liked to have taken all 5 kittens they had there!

I got one of their unique awards.... a tall glass mug engraved with the APL logo and show name and date, with a Ty beanie baby cat inside of it. Pretty neat I thought. Joe and Pam do a great job with their shows. I won an Autozone car wash bucket with all sorts of cleaning products in it in the Chinese raffle. I really wanted one of the envelopes with cash in them, but I didn't get one.

Linda and Emaline went with me. We stopped at the DQ afterwards and got ice cream. It was hot on that black top all day.

Well our big maple is gone. The guys came yesterday and took it down. It took him 3 hours Larry said. He took pics so I could see how he did it. He claimed up with spikes, and he had a lot of ropes and pulleys. He didn't know what killed it, it didn't have any ants or anything in it. It looks really strange out there now without the tree. The birds are looking for their feeders, lol. Our neighbor took the big chunks of wood and Larry burned the little limbs on the brush pile today. He dug up most of the hostas today and moved them.

Tomorrow we're taking Nicole to the casino tomorrow. Hope she has beginners luck, lol.

Well I'm tired, so I reckon I'll talk to you sometime tomorrow.

Hi everyone.

Jamesbo you guys getting a lot of rain? It's been overcast here all day, a few slight sprinkles here and there, but really not a bad day. I slept most of it.

So tonight is my first night of working 7-7. Last night was the first night for the department, I wonder how many people forgot and were late. So far I'm not a fan of leaving the house at 6pm.

Sandy sounds like a nice show. Can't beat going home with a bunch of car care products. Okay cash does beat that.

Not much else is new. Hope everyone's week starts out good. Have a good night everyone.

I got a new toy

Hi Everyone,

Jim, sorry to hear the Chantix is giving you problems. Building an ark huh? Sounds like a better alternative to whittlin.

Mike - hope your shift goes well. Haven't heard of 7-7 shifts before. Sounds nasty though. Hope you get shift premium for working through the night.

Been busy working on projects that will help fast track the restoration of parts for my car. Here's what took me several days to build, mostly because of the idiot instructions. I think they were written by an idiot anyway....This cabinet is really nice size (35x22). My compressor can feed it all the air it needs to blast away at 100 psi. Much nicer and easier to use than the bench model I tried last year. This one is also a lot easier to empty and refill. The gun is high flow and strips rust/paint faster than a $2.00 peeler.

inside - shiny and new. Not quite that purty now that it's been baptised

Dan, it handles bigger parts too. I put a rad top plate in and there's room to spare. I think it will also work on small children....the side door is large enough.

Good evening everyone.

End of another weekend. Might be good to get to work and relax. Doubt that will happen this week.

So spent most of the weekend working on the Cutlass again. I took the car for it's first drive of 2013. It was nice to drive it, but more issues keep coming up I even made a new post in the build thread for it.

Allan, that is a nice piece of equipment. You'll have to clean or paint it after each use to keep it looking that way

Sandy, congratulations again.

Mike, I would love to say "Once the Cutlass is done I'm taking a break for a while" but unfortunately, the Delta is showing it's age now at least in the interior. So I will have to put some time into it next year.

Have a great week everyone.

Evening All!

We actually had a decent but humid day today! No rain!! It was cloudy early, but sun came out mid morning, temps in the 80's. Nice to have some July weather for a change, lol.

We took Nicole over to the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland this morning. Spent about 5 hours. We each had $110 to gamble with. I came out with $400 that I won, and Larry came out with $94. So we split it. Nicole won $100. She enjoyed it. We ate at the buffet - very expensive, but the food was good.

Got home and cleaned the house some and did laundry. Went out and got Larry's big ladder out of the garage and hung my bird feeders in the other trees, now that the dead maple is gone. The yard looks soooo strange without it. Filled all the feeders. The Oriole's babies are coming to the jelly bowl now. They're so cute! Mom or dad is usually with them. They're pretty big already. Then I sat on my swing and read for awhile, came in and got my hair washed and dried, and sat down to watch TV.

Larry brought the Direct TV box in out of the garage from his TV out there and hooked it up to the TV in here so we can watch it. He called Direct TV again Friday afternoon and signed up for the 'Genie' so we'll be able to record 5 shows now instead of only 2, when we get the new box they're sending. The guy is supposed to come Wednesday and hook it up. It will be nice to be able to record more shows.

It was nice to get out of work at 2:00 on Friday! We shouldn't have had to go in at all. It was pretty dead in there, lol. Well I guess I'll get off here and get my stuff ready for work in the morning. Have a good evening all!

Here's a pic of my 'unique' award from the show yesterday, lol.

Here's some pics of the guy cutting down the Maple.

Thanks Paul,
One good thing about having a large 60 gallon compressor? No shortage of shop air for sweeping and cleaning using an air wand! Not worried about keeping it looking purty. More concerned about making sure that the media (I'm using 150 grit glass) that falls on the floor when I open the side door - there's always a bit of spillage even on commercial blasters - The finer the media, the slipperier it is.

Morning all.

Well I'm hanging pretty fierce right now. Gonna be a long day. We got home from the Mayhem festival about midnight and up at 3.

Most of the bands were pretty harsh for my liking, But it was really all for the wife anyhow. I got her tickets to see Rob Zombie and 5FDP was pretty good too.

I better go try to get dressed and see if I can get thru this.

Happy Monday all.

Morning All!

Cloudy - a little sun peeking out, and muggy. Supposed to have rain/storms all through the day. Nothing so far....

Hard to get back in the routine this morning. Phones were busy earlier. Still nice in here w/o Brian!

I think I'll go up and take Lin shopping tonight after work so I can be done with that. I'll ask her during our lunch time call.

Doodle was chomping a young rabbit right at the door this morning.... yuck!! Larry picked it up and tossed it out back, and took the rug outside. Dude didn't like that very well, lol. He said 'you know how long it took me to get that sucker so I could share it with you for breakfast'?? Unappreciative humans.....

Clint.... I remember those nights I could get by on 45 minutes sleep, lol. Many moons ago! I hate that 'eyes feel like they've got sand in them' feeling. Get to bed early tonight, lol.

Scot.... Is it time for peaches??

Well you all have a great day!

Hi everyone.

Last night wasn't too bad. Got to work at 7, sat around, went to get a plane and when we got to the gate were told it was going back out, so we went back to the hangar and sat around, then went to get another plane that only had a couple items on it, then went home two hours early. I'm certain this will not be the norm.

Nice day here. Sunny, the weather channel said it was 90 but not at my house.

Clint how'd you do today? Nothing wrong with a mid afternoon nap.

John, nice picture. Hope you're having a good time. That must be the North Georgia mountains. You know, get away from the cesspool known as Atlanta, and the place is kind of nice.

Allan that cabinet looks awesome! I wish I had something like that here. The machine I like to use in the Wheel and Brake shop has been unobtainable lately because they've been locking the shop up at night. I've got a couple rims in the back of the car that have been riding around for weeks, waiting for them to slip up and leave the door open.

Sandy I wish I could have about 10 trees taken down right now. One is so close to the house I may have to wait for it to fall, as I don't know if anyone would want to climb it to take it down.

Okay off to work. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Morning all.

Mike. the day was long. I did manage to get a few winks while test driving Starting to feel a little more human today.

Sandy, We already go to bed too early, The best we can do this time of year is about 7:30 since its still pretty light out. our normal bed time is about 8.

John, Have a great week up there. Looks like a great time.

Allan, I just gave back the chest I borrowed from my Snap -on dealer. I didn't have the room for it. His was a top load so it wouldn't spill anything when you opened it.

Have a great day all.

Late Morning All!

Cloudy, humid as heck here. Temps in the 70's now, supposed to go up to 83 or so later on.

We had awful thunderstorms last night. Started about 7:30. Rained soooooo hard! I took Linda to Wal Mart and the rain beating on the roof was unreal, lol. Thunder and lightening..... standing water on the roads - it was really pouring. I hate driving when it's like that. Tincanio's wipers leave a lot to be desired.... the windshield on that thing just looks smeary no matter what wipers I put on it. Like the windshield has something on it or something. It clears when the wipers go up, but smears or whatever when they come down. Hard to see. I ran that rain all the way home.

So today it feels worse than tropical outside.

Been a crazy morning in here. I spent the first hour trying to find one of Brian's quotes that isn't filed where it should be. His customers are just like him.....

Jamesbo.... I picked some green beans this morning before I came to work. There was a slug/snail on one of the tops of the plants eating the leaf. I picked it off and squished it! Then I sprinkled snail stuff around. It's soooooo wet. There are a couple more radishi out there too that I have to pick. I can't believe out of all those plants I only got like 3 or 4 radishi. One of my little cherry maters is starting to turn red. Finally.... it's only July, lol.

Tonight is BOP night over in Solon. I don't know if I'll go or not, even if it clears up later. I don't know if they canceled the Riverfront last night. It was still on last I checked online before I left work.

Well you all have a good day and stay dry.

Hi everyone.

Sunny all day today and warm. The dogs were anxious all day and I couldn't figure it out, until the thunder started around two. That ended my sleeping. The weather channel says it's supposed to stop(for awhile) around 7, I wish it would stop before I had to leave for work.

Sandy I hope you are de-stressing. What did you do about the smudgy look on the hood?

Wonder what Scot is up to?

Well it's Friday already. This is how it's supposed to be. Still not liking having to leave at 6 but starting at 7 doesn't seem to be a big deal. Last night I got to learn how to install a thrust reverser on a DC9. Not a bad job, actually, but Douglas did have a few tricks up their sleeves. Eh, men built it, men can fix it.

Gonna get ready for work and go find the dogs. They're usually right under my feet when it's thundering but not now. That should concern me. No rain so far, just thunder.

Have a good night everyone.

Howdy Doody everyone.

Jamesbo, now it is Wednesday. Last night it was Friday. Beautiful day out. Hope I don't sleep too long today so I miss it all. I'll probably wake up just in time for it to start raining.

I thought I was in for a quick night. Got on a plane right when we got to work that only had a couple items. At first break the lead comes up and says, you've been traded. So I get to my new plane, and it's a strut repack I figured the guys on the other plane would be going home any time. Well, they stuck around and come to find out the fuel issue they had turned into a harness change! So they left the same time I did, 7.

Well I don't know nuthin' so I'm gonna hit the sack for a little while. Hope everyone enjoys Hump Day.

Good Humpday Mawnin Friends

Here I is

Well halfway through the awards ceremony at the carshow Sunday, I get a phone call. It's my wife and she tells me the 19 y/o has just left the med stop and heading to the hospital with what they think is appendicitis. Well that is exactly what it was and they did the procedure that night. Anywho she is recovering fine and should be 100% in a few weeks.

Sandy there are some baseball sized peaches ready but not the softball sized Elberta's. They should be ready next week. The baseball sized ones are really firm though.

Have a great humpity day folks
