It's a 2023 w/34k on the odo. I decided to get rid of the Hyundai before the engine grenaded on me.
That's awesome Dan, super happy for you, it looks super sharp! Dawn really likes those and I'll definitely take a closer look at them when we get ready to dump our Hyundai. Did you trade in the Hyundai, or are you selling it on the open market?
Well $hit, there's a water main break in the Subdivision directly adjacent to us and we are without water. After we get it back, whenever that is, we will be on a 24-hour boil order. I'm out buying bottled water for us and the dogs, and picking up Chinese for dinner. Wish I'd gotten a shower before it happened!
Mike - I'm certain Durkee's has to be in some store in ATL - Mr. Jim buys it.
Chris - That sucks donkey *****. Several years ago I'm outdoors for a couple days & smelling this gawd awful sewage stench & wondering WTF. So, on a Friday night I call the Town of Beaufort sanitation department & explain. They send out the supervisor to my place. I explain the situation but he can smell the situation. He thanks me profusely. Town spends better part of two hours identifying location of the culprit. Sewage line clogged directly across the street from me.

Our water just came back. Now we're under a 24-hour boil order. At least we can use the toilet with full functionality at our discretion and we have plenty of drinking water without having to boil. Stuffed myself with Chinese, but looking forward to Razzleberry pie later! 😋
2010: THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT (DVD) - 1st viewed in the theater (1984), viewed/owned at least one VHS tape since then The Andromeda Strain (DVD) - Read the novel in 1969, viewed it once on VHS tape Logan's Run (DVD) - I think 1st time I watched it was 1976(?), viewed it a couple times since then THX-1138 (DVD - Director's Cut) 1st viewed in the theater in 1972 (released March, 1971). I may have owned two VHS tapes, owned my current (Tango Uniform) DVD ~30 yrs.
Chris, I traded it in, and took a hit on it. They said that every Hyundai that they take in on trade has had engine problems, including a 36,000 mile Sonata.. I decided it was best just to get it out of the way. Norm, I have seen all of those except for THX-1138. There was another sci-fi pic from that era, with Bruce Dern, an ecological one, in space. I'll have to do a search, as I can't recall the name. "Silent Running" was the movie. 1972.

Damn computer is acting up. I have yet to see a picture of Razzleberry pie topped w/ whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. I wonder if I missed an update?

You didn't miss an update, I just figured you'd seen enough of those. I will post a pic of tomorrow night's piece.

Dan - I have 66K-miles on mine now, and although I've had no engine issues to date, I've more than once wondered if I'm living on borrowed time? I really need to talk with Dawn and see what she thinks about dumping ours. I have to be honest that it's difficult for me to get into the mindset of looking for a new or used vehicle when the one we have hasn't given us any problems.

Chris - Are you drinking or forget to take your meds?
Wow slept good, slept in, and still got up early. Got some chores to do this morning then I don't know what. It's gonna be a nice day.
Chris you need to be proactive. Trust me on this, it will be way harder to get rid of the car once it does give you trouble. And it won't go up in value that's for sure.
In the upstairs bedroom there's a door that goes into an unfinished space, that is the space between the floor and the roof. It slopes quite a bit from standing room to nothing, like a wedge. I want to turn this space into a closet. I would build a wall about half way down and insulate and drywall. My question is, do I need to put in access to the space that will be behind the wall? Or should I finish the entire space?
So Dick Van Dyke is 100. Quite the storied life. Very talented. I don't know where you get Dick out of Richard, but it isn't what I'd go by. My dad's name was Dick. Oddly enough he had a part time gig as a house dick, and he could be a dick if he wanted to be. Hm, I guess it was a fitting name.
Okay lots to do, we'll see how much of it gets done. Have a great weekend everyone.

Mike - Access to the space for what purpose? Unless there's a need to access plumbing, HVAC duct work &/or a electrical gang way box, wiring, etc. It's just going to be a wall. Finish the entire space.
There are no utilities in this space, if I built a wall it would just be dead space behind it. You know if I did finish the whole thing, it would give me more room to stuff things. Hm.
I want to look at a car at a place, that has no hours of operation. All it says is, make an appointment. I liken that to, you need to beg to buy our cars.
Chris, is your Hyundai using oil? If everything is fine, I'm not too sure that I would worry. You could look at trade in values online, but dealers never give you a fair price anyways. Sell it outright if you feel that you need to get rid of it.

Dan - It has been using about 1/2-quart between the last couple oil changes which I've been doing at 6K-miles. I've been monitoring it pretty closely because of the known issues, and the consumption doesn't seem to be increasing at all yet. You're certainly correct about trade-ins, you're never going to come out on the good side.
I probably asked this before and then promptly forgot. What should I do with old desktop computers? I have probably 4 or 5 that have various problems which keep them from being viable. Although I'm no secret-type individual I'd hate to just throw them out and then someone get ahold of them and glean whatever off of them. I've heard there are precious metals inside, is it worth trying to extract them? Maybe they'll just end up in the new space in the bedroom.
Mike - As an every day Joe Blow w/o significant amounts of data (business, health, credit cards, banking, etc.) which might be compromised if it were to get into the wrong hands (as in a business operation), do whatever you want with the stuff. Any Best Buy location anywhere accepts old computers &/or peripherals, Staples might accept old computers. They recycle what they can. "If" a person was totally paranoid about ANY single piece of information falling into the wrong hands (an extraordinarily unlikely event), that person should write zeros (0) to the disk drives. Zeros are meaningless data.
You might see if Goodwill might accept your trash (I mean old computer stuff). My county has select drop-off sites for any appliances including old computers - no charge. A portion of our county taxes are used to maintain refuse & recycling disposal locations.
Ever wondered what it might feel like to drop an old computer to the ground from the top of a 5-story, 10-story, 20-story parking garage &/or building?
As mentioned in a previous post, I used to save any/all old/dead appliances (radio, alarm clocks, T.V.s, etc.), take them into a wooded area & unleash the 12-ga pump (often times w/ a big fat lead slug). I guess I'll take this CRT TV of mine to our county appliance drop-off site.
Chris, that is low oil consumption. Might as well get your money's worth out of it. Mike, as Norm pointed out, Goodwill will frequently take old computers. I took my old one to them, and now my other one needs to go there as well.
What often/sometimes happens w/ the Goodwill computer drop-offs is they might/are could be sold for pennies on the dollar to anyone or a computer geek/guru might pick them all up from Good will, strip them down & rebuild one good one or several to resell somewhere else down the line. Lots of newbie youngins looking to get their feet wet in PC technology &/or underprivileged households looking to pick up a PC, etc. on the cheap.
Saw a wild and weird hockey game at Gabe's game tonight. Gabe's team was down 3-0 after the 1rst, and 4-0 two minutes into the 2nd, and Gabe's team seemed terribly flat. Up to this point the same player (#47) on the other team had scored 3 of his team's 4 goals. At this point Gabe's Coach called a time out and told Gabe he was moving him to Defenseman and he was told to shadow #47 and make sure he didn't score again. Gabe's Coach then made sure Gabe was on the ice every shift the opposing player #47 was out there. The strategy worked and Gabe was able to shut down #47 the remainder of the game, while still having 2 goals and 2 assists himself, including his team's 1st goal, and what turned out to be the winning goal (5th) in a 6-4 win. Both of Gabe's goals were incredibly impressive with him skating around multiple defenders going end to end. What an incredible comeback! Sure glad I didn't miss this one, it was a treat! 😃
Chris - The Razzleberry looks delicious. Do you warm it just a tad or room temp?
Those are the type games you love as a player & spectator.
Personally, I like my Razzleberry cold right out of the fridge.
Yes, Gabe's game was really something! They were getting a real *** whooping and I have to admit I really thought it was going all downhill from there when it was 4-0, but to their credit they really surprised me and put forth an incredible effort across the board to pull it out! I still can't believe it!
I also have a old lap top to get rid off, best buy seems good. I'll see. Cold here, ugh no energy to go out in it. Chris, I would just keep using the car. I know if you punch up any car online you will find that according to whoever posts' it is the biggest piece of **** ever- should have been a recall on it, etc.... Not saying Dan is wrong- I don't know anything about new cars. Our Acadia has 102,000 on it now, when I bought it in 2020, I looked it up and had regrets- oh yeah it was the biggest POS and I will be lucky to make it to 50,000....It has been great, Only thing needed was a thermostat which was done by dealer under 100,000 mile warrantee I got. Crossing fingers..
