Car show yesterday, about 10 minutes away, at the Harley dealership. benefits veteran's resources. We got there about an hour after registration started, which was a good thing, as they filled the asphalt parking first, and we parked on the much cooler grass. It hit 93°. A breeze off of the adjacent Muskegon Lake, helped a bit. But four hours in the sun wears ya out.

So, I took a couple of pics last week of a car show in Ludington, Mi., went to download them yesterday, for the second time, and after they imported, I clicked on the folder, and it was empty. I walked away from the computer. Today, when I clicked on my pictures tab to download my old camera pic, there they were, all bright and shiny. Go figure.

Cool camera! You can use liquid tape on the bellows to fix the holes if you were to use it. The only problem is getting film for it.

I believe you simply have a small "glitch" configured somewhere/somehow based upon the s/w you're using. I think you have the old Photos (pre-Windows 10?) application. Some things are a bit convoluted I'll admit - simple stuff like is "indexing" turned ON/OFF for your folder structure. Mostly simple stuff.

Norm, you may be right, the problems started when I had the new drive put in and updated to Windows 10.
Dan - There is a process referred to as Indexing in which the native Operating System (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows 11, etc.) "indexes" information on each hard disk. It's simple to find and turn ON (instantiate). Perhaps you once had Indexing turned ON but it was turned OFF when the new drive was installed. Indexing runs whenever the OS is running. Indexing, as the name implies, creates an extremely fast method to find information located on any hard drive disk/partition. So, instead of having to search an entire disk/partition sector by sector, etc. what you're trying to retrieve is already contained in a very nicely fashioned Index. It's far faster to retrieve information from an Index. Check to see if you have Indexing turned on. I'll provide you the fastest way - there are other manners to configure various Indexing arrays, but I think you want the fastest & easiest.
Dan - Lots of B.S. videos & vociferous dialogue out there on Indexing. You're bright enough & likely can to this on your own. I likely don't need to tell you how to find your hard disk drive or any partitions on your hard disk drive (you know C:, D:, etc.). Navigate to at least the hard disk drive where your photos are stored and click the Properties tab. Look at the bottom of the Properties tab - validate if you have Indexing turned on.

My film-cranking, landscape-taking butt needs to learn indoor photography, so I am watching a lot of videos by Hunter and Sarah Wedding Photographers, but only the ones on photography, not the business of being a wedding photographer. I'm watching one now on "prime lenses." WTF is a prime lens, I say? A prime lens is a bougie new term for a fixed focal length lens (not zoom) that can 'stop pretty far open. I eyed my 50mm f-1.4 sitting next to me and nodded at it. Check. Prime just means a good piece of non-zoom glass. I can dig it.

I'm not sure if you are aware of it but do be careful using the old school flashes on your digital camera, the voltage is quite high and they can fry the electronics in the camera. There's an adapter that's sold that will reduce the voltage to a safe level so you can use it. I forget the name of the adapter but you can find it at places like Hunt's and B&H Photo.
Chris Dawn's daughter must live in a mansion. Dawn has been painted for weeks it seems. Is this the daughter with the tattoos and guns? Awful nice of her to do all that painting.

Oh the Corvairs Chris. Yes I appreciate any Corvair picture but my favorites are the late models, 65 and up. I must have breezed over the pictures of the early models, though I seem to remember a twitch going past one of them.
Mike - Yep, it's the same daughter. The house is pretty much a standard 3-bedroom, 2 bath, ~1,700-sqft ranch. There were some pretty bright colors in some of the rooms, so it's taking at least 2 coats for coverage. She's also put up new mini-blinds on all the windows. At the same time she's been getting rid of excess furniture via sale on Facebook Marketplace. It's a **** ton of work and she's been busting her ***. Frankly I'm surprised she's as far along as she is. I have not seen a dime yet for all the $'s spent on paint or blinds, but I'd better soon or there's gonna be a big reckoning!

Dan - Thanks for the pics. My favorite is the Aqua Impala in the 1st pic. Before I bought my car I had my eye on a beautiful '65 Impala SS with 327 and 4-speed, white with Aqua interior, it was a real beauty. I waited 1-day too long to pull the trigger and call, and it sold the day prior. Just as well I guess, as I love the car I have now.

This is an ebay ad. I just bought one of these, for less, in better shape, and there was no prime, beef or otherwise, but, yeah, even a 60 year old hunk of Japanese excellence is now bougied!
TS Chantal has moved inland & downgraded to a TD (Tropical Depression). Rain has subsided, minor pillowing rain showers abound locally. Weather not so bad. I think I'll make my 9:00am tee-time tomorrow. Soaked in the Whirlpool hot tub ~45' w/ extremely hot water & jets directed towards back pain. I'm going to chance it.
A friend was at Sands for his summer bachelor vacation in the coast of some part of the Carolinas and caught that storm and it chased him home to Lynchburg, VA.
It stormed here yesterday evening and thru the night in intermittent bursts. Suppossed to have the same throughout the day today. Thankfully it's supposed to be under 90° for a change with a high of only 88° forecasted.
I'm glad I went to bed fairly early around 1030 last night because the dogs got me up (one after another) at 0430 this morning. By the time I got them both inside Dawn's alarm was going off at 5am to go paint. I was wide awake at this point so I just stayed up to see her off.
No big plans for today. Borrrrrring. I will be watching my grandsons tomorrow. If the weather will cooperate I'm going to take them to a small waterpark that's only a few miles down the road. There's alot of humid and unstable air in this area right now so it's really hard to determine what's going to happen with the weather.
The schedule is supposed to be posted today for the Hockey Tournment both boys are supposed to play in this coming weekend. It will dictate any car events I might want to go to.

Dan - You need to pick yourself up one of those canopied folding chairs like I bought. They are a godsend when there's limited or no natural shade, and you don't have a tent type canopy. I wish I'd bought mine 4-yrs ago!

I posted earlier how I didn't have much on the agenda for today so I manufactured something. First, I went out and got the current mileage on the 4-4-2 and figured out I'd driven it about 340-miles since I changed the oil & filter at the start of the season. I thought this is probably a good chance to check all the fluids, with the exception of the rear end. Everything was right where it should be, even the engine oil, even though I still have a tiny, tiny, rear main seal leak.
Also, since I started with a full tank of gas on the way to the Show on the 4th, and filled up again when I got home I was able to calculate my mpg for the 1st time in a long time. I got 13.2 mpg on the 96-mile round-trip with a combination of 2/3 highway at 65mph and 1/3 city or rural 2 lanes at 45mph or less. I thought that was pretty decent considering the 3.23's in the rear end.

Could well be both the one you use the most, and a fixed focal length one that opens wide.
F glass is cheap, so I picked up a few oddballs to add to the collection. Freaking jammed up polarizer's threads gave me a nice paper cut. I ordered a flash with more functions than the old strobe. My old man's camera case is still made and I can still get dividers, but the lead time is too long, so I'll make my own for now. This will be a kit when I am done.

It's like sex in an airplane bathroom. It's not illegal; it's just frowned upon.
Chris - Does your engine have the original crankshaft? If so, it's likely (hemp) rope. If you have only a tiny, tiny rear main leak that's fantastic. From 1969 'til 1973 my '67 4-4-2 got ~9 mpg - 10 mpg. I went through a set of bias-ply tires every 10K miles - I was a tad heavy on the pedal between 17 yrs & 20 yrs of age.
Blazing hot & sultry humid outdoors but I managed to get the mowing done. I'll see how I feel about golf in the morning - I surely need to put in more games cause I suck donkey *****. Humidity has been sky-rocketing w/ gentle to no wind which has been driving the H.I. through the roof.
