From what I gather, following up on Gene Hackman - Gene's pacemaker demonstrated his heart stopped beating nine days prior to them finding his body - so he was dead for some time. The dog in the closet died from dehydration. His wife they're unsure of, but speculation is she likely had a cardiac episode of some type trying to assist Gene. She had some cardiac issues of her own, I guess. She might have gone into the bathroom for his medication, had an episode of her own, collapsed & never made it back to Gene.

Mike - That F450 I purchased (applied Herculiner) - I stated I purchased it in Dayton, OH. I actually purchased the truck from a family in Xenia. I saw your post RE: Georgia/Ohio Title/Bill Of Sale.

Mike, bought "truck" as a basket case- so I have no b4 and after comparison of bedliner on floor for noise reduction. John, only silver lining of a death in family is the drawing in of the family, Norm, Thanks for the update on Hackman- I just hate how the media brings us the "HOT" stories and never follows up, I guess they get "cold". Still haven't heard what they figure actually happened on the 2 plane accidents....

Good morning everyone.

Kind of a slow start to the morning, though I hit 12 before break and I like to get 10. So I'm ahead of the game.

Greg there's nothing more dead than yesterday's news. The plane in Toronto looked to me like the right gear collapsed. At over 100mph that's enough to cause all that mayhem. Those planes have a known problem of the main gear collapsing. As for Mr. and Mrs. Hackman, what the hell was the dog doing in the closet?

Norm my friend said that the Xenia police are ruthless on traffic stops. That must be their main source of revenue. Or someone gets a cut of all the tickets.

Jamesbo that brings up a question. If you have to give your house up, who makes the payment?

Chris if your exwife ever decided to vacate that house would you consider moving back into it?

Hope I can get to the Suburban after work. It starts and runs, but will die when the throttle is closed, but start right back up. I've read that the governor puts the pump at 0 pressure when you take your foot off the gas, but is supposed to put pressure back at 1500rpm, but sometimes the linkage gets gummed up and it stays at 0 psi so the engine dies. He's been sitting for a couple years so the linkage being funky is a distinct possibility.

Well it's the penultimate day of the work week. Hope everyone has a good one.

Mike - My immediate answer is yes, I would consider it. It would depend on several factors including: price, how many things she has let run down, what things she's changed good or bad, and current taxes. Dawn has wanted a pool, but we don't really have the lot for it in our current home, which doesn't break my heart. Pools are alot of work to take care of them right. Another advantage, we have already decided my youngest daughter Blaire (Gabe's mom) will be our Executor and Power of Attorney, and they live on the same street 3 houses down.

Good morning guys,

Sunny but chilly (32° at 0900) here, but warming to 50° this afternoon. We're suppossed to get 60°'s tomorrow and thru the weekend, then I'm seeing 4-days in the 70°'s next week. I think Winter has had it's last hurrah here.

Got our taxes done last night without issue. Significantly cheaper preparation fee ($85 vs $300) and we're getting small refunds from Fed & State, a Win/Win as long as they were done correctly. We'll see?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Very good Norm. I'm sure not every house that is lost/gained in a divorce is paid off.

Twenty One done at lunch. I like 20. Slow to get going after lunch, which is typical.

John I'm glad things went well. Sometimes I'm at a visitation and I feel bad for the deceased. People get together and start having a good time and sort of forget why they are there. I suppose that's supposed to happen. People come in from out of town that you haven't seen in forever, of course you want to catch up.

So on that other thread where the guy needs a title for his 48 Chevy, I found it odd that I posted and related real world experience, and the guy that posts after me says oh you only need a bill of sale. He has no idea but I guess since he said it the State of Ohio has to go along. It may depend on if you get a forgiving person or one who is a stickler for things, or someone having a good or a bad day. Well, I'm not going to argue with that guy. I hope the original person tells us what it took to register his car.

Mike - Not sure. If I were to speculate I'd suggest perhaps that dog ventured into the closet which was close to where they found Gene & maybe another dog (they had three I believe) accidentally closed the closet door trapping the deceased dog inside?

Mike to kinda sorta answer the question. I had to buy the house I had given Madame Nu. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Nhuwhen she took off i just paid off the loan and got a quick claim deed from her The largest part of the battle was what it was worth. her college roomie husband [real estate appraiser s]aid she could build build 7 houses on 7 acres . I cried Bullshit and pointed out the 1 acre lake in the middle of the property

Good morning everyone.

Real slow start to the day. Got my first wheel at 630 and finished a breathtaking 4 wheels by break. Wow. Guess what. This is me giving a damn. It's my big Friday so my thoughts are on vacation. But I will still do my level best when work comes my way.

Jamesbo, was this the hippie with the Volkswagen that lived in your house when you bought it? Or someone who wouldn't leave and everyone hated? I would think that if I got a house in a divorce and my significant other was to keep paying the note, I would be afraid that she would stop paying and I'd be on the street anyway.

Chris I say this all the time. I think we should change time once a month so it's always light at 9pm. I love it being light in the evening.

The Suburban is as done as it's going to get. I wanted to take the top off the fuel pump but when I actually looked at it I was afraid I'd screw something up. It doesn't look user friendly and they are temperamental and expensive. I've read that if I put fresh fuel in the problem will solve itself after some driving. So that's the plan. It will be nice to have him on the road again.

Gonna start getting ready for my trip this weekend. I have to be careful putting things together. When the suitcase comes out Tiger thinks we are going somewhere, as in immediately. He gets so excited and I hate to do that to him. I'm bringing a bigger suitcase this time so I won't have to cram so much. I hate checking luggage. I know firsthand what happens to it.

Okay have a good weekend everyone.

Put outdoor chairs/tables from man-cave back onto front porch. Did a killer 0000 steel wool sanding on interior-facing side of door. This inside-facing side is only getting two Spar Urethane coats meaning this is the final inside-facing application - one coat Sanding Lacquer + two coats Spar Urethane. I can hang it back up tomorrow & begin working the interior door - which will be sanded & repainted.

Good morning guys,

Beautiful morning, 46° at 10am with full sun and headed towards a high of 68° this afternoon. We're headed into a stretch of beautiful springtime weather with several days in the mid-70's this coming week.

No big plans for this weekend. Really the only things I need to do to to have the 4-4-2 ready for it's first springtime event are to change the oil/filter and lube the front steering components. I should really run out and get an extra tube of grease for my gun before I start just in case I run out. I'd hate to run out in the middle of that task.

No hockey this weekend. Gabe starts his "All Star Tournament" this coming Wednesday and it runs thru next weekend. I'm calling it an All Star Tournament because the teams are comprised of the best players from 4 different leagues throughout the Midwest (MO, IL, IN, IA). I told Gabe it was an honor for him just to be selected, especially since he is probably the youngest player selected for his St. Louis team. All these games will be played at a facility in East Alton, IL, just across the river a little northeast of downtown St. Louis. I'd bet Norm knows where Alton/East Alton is? I've got two close buddies from work, both of whom were groomsmen in our wedding, are coming to watch Gabe play Wednesday evening. One of the guy's son played for the same organization Gabe plays for when he was a boy.

Hope everyone has a great day and weekend!

Norm I leave Tuesday. Is that beauty someone of note? I don't recognize her, but she's pretty.

Chris your abbreviations for the states involved in Gabe's tournament look like an ancient city in Italy. Moilinia

The shop has only signed 49 wheels so far today, and our target is 132. Pitiful. The lead isn't here so people are slacking. The good news is I won't have to hear the lead go on about a poor job on Monday because I won't be here.

A guy who sits near me thinks that picture is a girl that was on an 80s sitcom who died. No clue.

Norm - I know you've been consumed with your door refinishing and springtime yard work, but I was wondering if you've checked out the Netflix mini-series "Zero Day" yet? I just saw this morning that it has become the most watched show on Netflix. Dawn and I loved it.

Mike - Her name is Delta Goodrem. I only know this because I just did a Google image search. I don't know anything about her other than what I just read. Evidently she's fallen upon some significant health issues. No doubt she's worth a squirt.
Chris - Yes, I know where Alton is located - been there several/numerous times. I'm on Episode 13 of How The Earth Was Made. I think I have ~11 or 12 episodes remaining. This is a fantastic documentary series. You would love this series. As soon as I finish I plan to engage in Zero Day.

Final Spar Urethane application complete.

I have, in fact, been to MOILINIA.

Time to grab me a sit-down lunch. I don't feel like making anything.

Norm - I have every intention of watching the Geology series. I had no idea it was that extensive though. May take me quite awhile to get thru it though, as I'm guessing this isn't one Momma's gonna be interested in.

Her name is close to being Bond girl worthy. Change it to Delta Goodram, and it would be in like Flynn.

Don't count Dawn out having no/limited interest. There is some very, very good cinematography in each episode - you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'll definitely suggest it, although I know her pretty well. If she Isn't interested, since the cinematography is good, I'm definitely going to lobby for my getting to watch it on our living room super hi def, 70" TV. I almost always go back to the bedroom to watch sports so she can watch what she wants in the living room.
