Dan - I spent tons of time @UW MKE as I lived in MKE 6.5 yrs. I worked in West MKE. Probably ran into him/them at any number of places. They live in Wauwatosa or West Allis?

Dan there's a manager here and there that will take attendance of his shop at a meeting, or if he wants everyone to stay after work. Luckily our manager doesn't do that. If it was information that was actually interesting that would be another thing all together. Or if the meeting was held close to my shop. The last meeting I went to, the biggest news was if the customer puts a 4 on their survey it gets thrown in the trash, because people who put 4 don't care and the company doesn't care about them. Wonderful.

Beautiful day here, if not a tad warm. It was nice going to the store in the dogmobile, and not having Mom climb in and out on a step ladder. But the no AC thing needs to change. Still no local Ford Flex. The ones I like that Carvana has(still a ripoff) are on the other side of the country and wouldn't be here for three weeks. Although by the looks of things three weeks will come and go and I still won't have anything.

So using Mom's computer tonight, the phone works just fine over here on the lake. I hate to think of how old this computer is, and it's way slower than mine. But heck I don't have to go outside to use it so that's a win. I wonder if I complained to Verizon enough if they'd build a tower close to my house. Although, something that tall would be detrimental to an airport...

Okay work tomorrow. Haven't heard a weather report, don't know what I'm going to be doing this week after work. Play it by ear I guess. Have a good night everyone.

Well my main man has an illness in his family so he;s off to Miami

The cook has become the weed eater/ grass mower

Got about 90% of the mowing done and 50% of the weed eating. Tomorrow, I should finish up just in time to start again

gonna order pizza tonight, if it were just me, I add anchovies but it ain't gonna happen. The super model doesn't care for hairy salty fish. I love them

I'm pretty sure, I'm gonna work a half a day on the day of my funeral Gotta have the place looking nice

Good evening guys,

Long *** day yesterday! Went to the granddaughter's b-day party. Left the house at 10:00 am and didn't get home until 6:00 pm. Shortly after we got there at 11:00, we put together a medium sized trampoline in 92° with 75% humidity. We were soaked before the party started. Then +4-hours of a house full of screaming kids because it was too hot for them to play outside. Damn that was a good time!

Had intended to get up early and get out to the garage to start detailing the 4-4-2 for a judged show I'm going to enter it in on Father's Day, this coming Sunday. That didn't happen, now I'm shooting to start tomorrow. We're in a period of 3-days of +100-degree highs thru Wednesday, then mid to high-90's the rest of the week. It's not any fun trying to detail a car if you're sweating like a pig, so if I don't do it in the first few hours of daylight, it ain't happening.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Chris, I'm with you. I get more done before most people roll over. I've got everything ready [gassed up] for tomorrow. If I had lights on my mower, I'd start earlier. Honestly it takes me about as much time to clean equipment as it does to use "some" of it. I plowed the garden and the rotor tiller tractor attachment takes a while to clean. I am hell bent and determined that my most recent purchasers are my last. So after a days work, I wash off everything Gator, tractor and new mower

Jim - I would say I'm conscientious and a stickler about keeping my toys and equipment clean, others would say I'm excessively OCD! To quote Popeye, "I ams who I ams."

Chris, Looking after things isn't OCD

I knew a Delta pilot that polyurethane his garage floor and washes his car before he parked it in his garage. That's OCD I also caught him waxing his outside A/c unit one day Nuff said

Yeah, that's why I don't do much car show stuff during the summer. When the overnight low is in the 90s, and the sun comes up at 5 am, the world is just way too dang hot by the time I roll out of bed.

There's one hell of a difference between 105°F w/ 15% relative humidity and 105°F w/ 95% relative humidity....

More importantly, the Dew Point in Phoenix is 40°F - there's essentially no water vapor in the air - at all. Makes sense you'd get chilled getting out of a 90°F swimming pool - the evaporate loss (cooling) would be rapid. The air would suck that water off you like a sponge.

Yes, I lived on the Gulf Coast for 30+ years so I am very familiar with humidity. Familiar enough to know temperature and humidity are inversely proportional, and it is extremely unlikely to have 95% RH with an ambient temperature of 105 degrees.

Yes, we've been living in a fog the past 24-36 hours each night. Tonight & possibly tomorrow night, also. It occurs quite frequently this time of year - temp gets to 90°F - 95°F w/ a RH of 90% - it's like walking through a sauna everywhere. You walk outdoors and w/in 10' you're sopping wet.

I just opened the door to have a look outdoors - it's like the Creature From The Black Lagoon everywhere - dark, damp, foggy and you can hear the high voltage wires buzzing above - it's eerie. I checked the stats & it's 81°F, 79°F DP & 97% RH.

Good morning guys,

0900 here, 89° with 77% relative humidity. I did get my **** out of bed this morning and started on the car at 0600. Got both chrome bumpers polished, the roof cleaned, hood and rear deck polished with detailer. Got the sides to wipe down with detailer, wheels to clean, engine bay detail, and interior dusting/vacumning to do yet. A couple of hours each morning and it will be ready by Sunday.

Nothing else really on tap for today. Got to run my wife to the FedEx store to process a return here in a minute. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good effort.

I went to bed early last night and set alarm for usual time, figuring I'd wake up at 5 or so. My truck was almost out of gas and I figure now is the time to siphon the year old gas out of my Monte Carlo and burn it in combination with other stuff. But I slept the whole time and went and found some normal gas under 5 bucks. I have a moral objection to paying over 5 bucks for 87 swill.

Good morning everyone.

Nice and hot this morning. Was hot yesterday. I'm quite sure the AC in my house runs and doesn't ever shut off. With the AC being out upstairs it was 97* up there, according to the thermostat. I wonder if that is somehow making the AC downstairs run non-stop, trying to push the cold air up the stairs. I gotta call about that, my electric bill will be out of sight.

Summit cruise in last night. About 75 cars. It was hot even as the sun was going down. No Oldsmobiles. Oh, there might have been one. A customizer guy was there and what I thought was an Oldsmobile looked like a squished jellyfish. Like from the 40s. Not my thing but lots of excellent work went into it.

Work has really gone well this morning, looks like we might hit our goal for the first time in awhile. Lots of stuff to do after work today, and still get to supper by 5. Yow. Have a good day everyone.

Mike - You have an attic? Any attic/roof vents which may need to be opened? If no attic but an upstairs ensure windows are open (at least an 1" or 2"). I completely refurbished my attic w/ insulation on the roof and floor & updated my North, South & West facing louvered 3'x4' attic (wall) vents. The breeze does a good job of moving air through - the heat alone will help to move the hot air out of the attic as it rises out the vents.

A squished jellyfish - that's some image for a car.

Had a therapeutic massage @ 9am - oh heck yeah that felt good. Did some grocery shopping, nearly home & the port was shifting railroad cars producing a 20' - 25' delay. The train track runs right downtown and crosses the South side lanes of traffic - ugh. Wasn't all bad sitting in the '71 CS convertible w/ the top down. I'm definitely not lifting a finger outdoors in this heat/humidity today.

John - Thanks! Despite the heat, I actually enjoy working on the car and making it look nice. Just pacing myself and doing some each day.

For some reason (probably lower taxes), I think we're lucky to have some of the lowest priced gas for a larger metropolitan area. Today when we were just out, 87 was at $4.80. When I put 93 in the 4-4-2 on the way home from the cruise on Saturday evening it was $5.40, that hurt a bit! I get a little spark knock if I run anything less than 93. I carry a bottle or two of Lucas Octane Booster with me in case I'm out somewhere that only has 91.

Thanks Norm, an excellent idea as always. With no AC upstairs having the windows open won't waste any money. There is an attic above the upstairs rooms, and it has a full length ridge vent, with nothing else to mess with. On second thought, with no screens in those windows I'll have every wasp and hornet and bee in town inside the house. Well, good idea anyway. Maybe I can find some mesh or something to tape on the inside of the open window.

When I went past the gas station this morning it was 4.34 for the cheap stuff. Premium is still under 5 but not by much.

Found a couple cars at, of all places, Carmax that don't seem to be such a ripoff. One is in North Carolina and they want 99 bucks to transfer it. If I flew out and drove home it would cost me that. If I drove the truck out with a trailer it would cost way more than that. Funny, I've finally gotten to the point in life where I won't drive 40 minutes to save 1c on a gallon of gas. This falls into this catagory.

Mike - Lots of hardware stores, including Wally World, sell these window vents which slide open like an accordion to accommodate varying sizes of windows. Place them between the bottom of the window (sash) and the window frame.

EDIT: Cost is ~$8/each

So, I finally got a real riding mower and got rid of the awful Yard Bug. I'm going to wash and probably wax the new mower next week. Does that make me a little odd?
