No problem at my house, none were put up this year. Ya, I did put a light bulb in the outside entry for safety. It wasn't a bah ha attitude year, but things kinda went south between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

That 55 sure looks at home in your driveway, you could make a nostalgia Christmas card out of that group picture... Tedd

Rob, was that in Wisconsin? I am going to guess it was early 60's.

Yeah actually saved it from a site I found that has nostalgic Milwaukee pictures from I was growing up. It was very typical Milwaukee. Like this pictures here it's another great example of the " North Shore" electric train that ran from Milwaukee to Chicago and turned around Gary, Indiana until 63 when things shut down. Ee hung around right were this train was going through the south side of Milwaukee. This was part of my neighborhood.

We ran late this year as my wife/boys went to North Dakota for Thanksgiving for a week and turned into 3 plus weeks because her dad took a spill downstairs. She didn’t return until 12/10 after 22:00 in the evening. So our decorations will linger into January. Personally I’d prefer to leave them up later rather than have them up before Halloween. (Which I managed to decorate accordingly). I haven’t received any complaints from my neighbors so I’ll gather I’m in good shape.

Oh no! Hope your father-in-law is on the mend.

FWIW, I'll probably remove the Christmas lights from my house within a week. I put them up around Thanksgiving and take them down around the New Year.
