Smile Align steering wheel??

My 73 Delta 88 Royale's steering wheel is slightly askew. Last time I aligned a steering wheel it was on a new 64 Tempest and I was in High School. I have been kicked in the head too many times since then to remember what I need to do. Read the CSM until 3:15am this morning and couldn't find it. Either I am blind or stupid or both.

This is not a big deal but my OCD is mildly screaming when I drive it. Any help will be greatly received.

You need to adjust the tie rod ends in small increments to re-center the wheel.

Remember...small increments and in the opposite direction. Also make sure to mark the rods and sleeves before you start so you make sure you move them the same amount.

I was going to mark them with a little silver sharpie, and use a tape measure.
Anything else before I do this?

Bring I to an aignment shop so they can set everything. This will include getting you steering wheel straight.

Ha ha ha, back to my life premise No problem is so small that vast sums of money can't cure it. I will sleep on this, I understand the reasoning to take it to an alignment shop.

While theoretically, you can do this by turning each tie-rod adjuster the exact same amount, I agree with Eric that the best bet is to take it to a GOOD alignment shop - at the very least, you have no idea whether the rest of the front end is aligned correctly right now.

Thanks, all you guys are very helpful. If it isn't raining too much I will have it at the Alignment Shop in the morning. If it is, won't matter because I won't be driving it until the sun comes out again.

Keep in mind that if the parts are worn, they won't touch it until they are replaced.

If parts are worn, they are worn and I would want to replace them anyway.
