I got reproduction door handles from ecklers for my 65 cutlass. The push rods are far too long. Tried searching and came up with a post about them being too long. My question does anyone have a closer approximation to actual length more than eyeballing it or grinding it to fit. I am willing to go that route but figured it was worth asking since I'd imagine its been done numerous times.

 

The push rod on my handles sticks out exactly 1/2" past the cross bar.
