A handful of years ago a wagon that is very similar to mine sold on ebay for +/- $35,000.00. It was better than mine in a couple areas but mine was better in a couple areas. Not saying mine is worth that kind of money but done right they can bring pretty big money. I didn't read every word of the ad but I did not see anything stating that the car has been restored?
Also on a side note, this car has the remote chrome mirror on the driver side & the non remote mirror on the passenger side. The mirrors totally do not match but could be & probably are 100% totally correct.
That is a very rare and cool car! Obviously, the pictures are contrast enhanced, the front seats added, it's still nicer than many 442's or Cutlass cars you see for sale. But the mileage...too much $ for a car with that kind of miles on it.
This picture cracked me up. Front buckets with seatback releases in a 4 door. I could just imagine someone crawling through the front door to get into the back seat.
77.8% positive feedback is atrocious. If you had that kind of budget for a Vista Cruiser you would be better off buying out of Hemmings and saving some money.

I think the feedback ratings needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The seller is a dealer, and any business, whether it's IBM, the local mom and pop cupcake shop, or anything in between, will have its share of unhappy customers. Some complaints are legitimate, others not so much. Look at any establishment's rating, for example, on a site like Tripadvisor. This seller's 77% positive rating would translate to just under 4 out of 5 stars on Tripadvisor. Most people would look at that as a pretty good rating, not a bad one.
Most of the complaints I see on this seller's feedback are people complaining about the car not being as advertised. Well, whose fault is that? Not that this seller or anyone should mis-represent their merchandise, but one person's rust "free" is another person's rust "bucket." If there's a ever a "buyer beware" or "do your homework" type of purchase, it's buying a used car regardless of whether it's from a private seller or a dealer.
This is a nice car, and very few like it exist. If I were interested in it, I wouldn't let the dealer's feedback rating stop me. I'd go check out the car thoroughly myself, and if it passed my inspection, that's what matters. Ultimately, this or any car speaks for itself.

speaking of those buckets.back in the 80's my dad had a 68 bonneville wagon,it was loaded to the gills.cornering lights,power windows,power vent windows,buckets,power drivers and reclining pass,console 8 track,vinyl top etc.and those bucket seats did not fold forward.and did not have a button to release em.

Dan, I don't think the folding feature was anything that is a concern. IMO the PO simply wanted bucket seats instead of a bench. Personally I think that's cool as heck. Look at today's new more door cars. A vast majority have buckets front and bench back, and some of those front seats can recline or fold for more carrying capacity. I think this car looks awesome but nowhere near the ask.
Did you notice that it has the very rare metal air deflector that was only on 71/72 455 cars? (part number 410410) And also has bias ply belted (non radial) tires. This is a very well presented 3 seat VC.
I just noticed what looks like a chrome lug nut(?) being used as a plug in the heater hose fitting coming off the radiator. You'd think the fella could have spent $20 to have a radiator shop remove and seal off that incorrect hose fitting properly.
I think it is to much money. But, somebody that rode in one of these as a kid and has money to burn just may jump. These land yacht wagons are only gonna get more popular and we will see them bring big money for a while. Look at the VW van craze, the pick-up trucks that are getting crazy money. There are fads in the car market.

No. This dealer, Gateway Classic Cars, always has something nonsensical like that in the VIN slot in their auction listings. I've seen a number of cars for sale by them on ebay, and they all have a weird-looking VIN. I don't know why they would do this.
As examples, check what's written in the VIN slot for these three cars. All similar.
Wow! Big$$. I like it. If someone see that online for $35,000 that must be it will sell for that. That means my unrestored one must be worth at least half that! Simple!
I've had five VC's in my time and never would have considered them to have a value that high... BUT, the demand for VC's has increased, so maybe there is a perspective buyer with $35K to spend...
I was going to sell my VC to a guy for 3K, and he thought that was too much. Of course mine doesn't run and has rust. Perhaps I should show him this one...

i was pointing out the fact that it was a 68 wagon,and the seats were special to the wagon as they did not fold forward,the back of the seat didn't have a button so there again the backs were special to the wagon.i wish i would have kept those seats
I'm not trying to confuse the issue any but the 1967 and 1968 GM a body bucket seats have the seat back releases on the upper side of the seats and not the back. Maybe someone installed those in that car or are you 100% sure there were no seat back releases on the sides or the backs?
"Most expensive wagon"??? Not hardly... Check the values on '57 Fiesta and Buick Caballero wagons, or any marque wood paneled wagon. Personally, I wouldn't sell my flattop for said price, and it's not even a coveted Vista! This said, I believe that the car listed is VERY optimistic.
