It's the tweety bird floor mats that drove the price up.

That particular year Corvair with the "Tweety" edition package and optional wheels is extremely rare. It is the only one I've ever seen, coupled with the very low mileage, and that would easily justify the small increase over a regular Corvair.

In American greenbacks one is talking about $5,404.68, if that makes any difference.

Aw, now I'm all sad missing my 62 Monza...
Cost me all of $2500!
A totally different beast, but Vairs are mighty fun (and cheap) vehicles to drive and maintain.

They are Kool. I had a Yenko Stinger in Stage II Kit. It handled and was quick too.

Restoring a Corvair is a lot like restoring an early Mustang. Clarks has thousands of products for Corvairs where you can practically build a new car from their catalogue. They seem to be wildly undervalued too, and certainly under appreciated.

I went Corvair shopping about a year ago and walked away with a really cool Greenbrier. Cost was bargain basement and she's pretty cheap to run and maintain too. It's quite a change-of-pace switching between the Greenbrier to my Custom Cruiser. Even though the wagon and van have the same purpose of hauling people, the ride quality and comfort of the wagon is simply unmatched.
