I'm sure I could find the answer on here, but didn't see any recent posts. What should I reasonably expect to pay to color match a hood on my 67 Cutlass? I'm hoping it's around $500 or am I smoking something? I just want to have an idea before I call around.

Rik, where are you located? OK would be quite a bit cheaper than NY or CA. It also depends on what type of paint you use (ie. acrylic enamel, urethane, BC/CC, single stage etc.).

Before I painted my 71 98 myself by taking an auto body course I was quoted $3k to scuff and shoot the entire thing. I ended up spending a little over $1k in supplies and paying for a class at a local vo-tech.

I've just painted my hood 2 months ago and the cost of paint and all supplies was $300. I painted it myself, a body / paint shop is going to be a good bit more.

If it is red it will cost more than most other colors. Paint prices are crazy.

How old is the paint that is being matched? What color?
I would expect a reasonable painter would charge $1000.00 to color match if it's possible.
