Convertible top pump install trick?

Besides a little lube job, is there a trick to getting those three pointy grommets to go down into the bracket? And no hair wisecracks please

First, put a little oil on the grommet. Then, if they are like my grommets, stick a small, blunt tipped object in the small hole on the top side of the grommet as you insert the grommet into the hole. This stretched the grommet and helped push it through.

I used a small drift punch. Do not use a nail or other sharp object since it will just puncture the grommet.

Smile Installation of pump

I used silicone spray and a 3/16 ball nose Allen wrench and was done very quickly.

You are correct sir!

Plenty of silicone spray and a little rotational action and they popped home.
Thanks
Tom
