I have a 1948 Olds 78 4-door. I have sanded the complete body to bare metal. However; I want to sand under the fender extension on the Right and Left from doors but don't know how to remove them. Has anyone ever taken them off? How do yah?

 

You are talking about on the front of the doors right? I think they are bolted from the inside of the door panel. You have to remove the inner door panel and have the window up to get to them as I recall.

 

Thanks! Unfortunately the heads of the bolts are inside the fender extension going into the door outer skin. From the inside of the door you can see the tips of the screws.
