ebay motors search trick?

Anyone know search without the new (fits xxx) showing up. I am looking for something and I should only have to look through a few hundred ads not 18,000 new gidgets

Try using the 'Advanced' search option. It's located immediately right of the green 'Search' button. I usually enter my key words and then select "Exact words, any order" from the listbox to its right. I also choose "Highest Price" in the Sort field to filter the cheap stuff to the bottom.

Oh, and forgot to mention: I also type the following into the search field after the key words: -(chevy,buick,ford,etc.) . This filters out any listings with these words.
Here's a sample search: 1966 442 -(chevy,hotchkis,hedman)

Exact words, any order worked perfect. From 18,000 to 600 in my search
Thanks

edit went back and did -cover,seals and got rid of 150 more car cover and weatherstrip ads.

I found that if you select "auctions only" on the tabs, it elimenates a lot of stuff like Xenon headlights etc.

If the ad is an auction that also has a buy-it-now price, they will still be listed. If the ad ONLY has a BIN price, it will be filtered out.

I don't recommend filtering out the BIN stuff. I lot of people including myself list stuff at BIN or send offer. It saves a lot on sellers fees. I about the only time I list as auction any more is if its a rare item I know lots of people will want.
