I just bought this 66 2Dr ht for 500.00 needs paint and inteior runs great except for the smoke that comes out of the drivers side valve cover breather at a stop light it looks like she is on fire from the smoke. Any suggestions maybe just a bad breather? Any help would be greatly apprciated.

Welcome to our site. I doubt it is just a bad breather, if the smoke it coming out the breather is passing gas (not a joke). Remember that engine is more than likely 42 years old.

Make sure your PCV valve is set up correctly. The engine vacuum should draw the crankcase vapors out of your valve cover and back into the engine if it is functioning properly. If the car is smoking to bad you might have to do some work to the engine.

Great site I'm glad I found it. I bought this car from the original owner he bought it in Dec. 65 and I got it Aug. 2008 it is all oridginal #'S matching engine trans and rear end. It runs strong and doesn't smoke except for the breather so thanks for the info Cause I'm sure I will have plenty of Questions. I'm doing brakes and new U-joints tomorrow and try a new PCV also. I've never seen frt drum brakes before they look like new bareings and seem smooth so I will waite on those.
