PCV valve grommet installation

What's the trick to installing a new PCV valve grommet into the D-hole in the RH valve cover? I've tried Dawn dish soap as a lube and have lost feeling in both thumbs trying to install with no success yet. New air tube grommet into the LH valve cover was no problem...
Thanks.

Warm up the new grommet to make it pliable. Use silicone grease, not dish soap. Use a small dull flat blade screwdriver.

Boil a cup of water, remove from stove (microwave) as soon as the boiling stops, drop in the grommet to heat it up.

Also, use a pair of channel lock pliers and squeeze the grommet to get it to fit. You just have to hold your tounqe right.

I recently found out getting a 57 year old original one out is harder than installing a new one.

Heat and silicone grease with assist from a pry stick like this.

Also, use sealer or it will weep oil.
