What Roller Rockers Will fit Under Stock Valve Covers?

Hi everyone,

I am building a sleeper 455, and want to use stock valve covers on my C heads.

What brand of roller rockers will fit under the stock valve covers?

Thanks in advance,

Tony K.

For anything under .550 lift or so normally the problem isn't the rocker, it's the poly lock. Try using the shorter ones from Comp.

Many have glued two gaskets together to gain a little clearance.

I've seen holes drilled in the baffle to accomodate the poly locks at full lift.

And..Ive seen the baffle removed completly for the same reason, but thats not the best plan.

You also can get 3/8" aluminum spacers on ebay. I have them and they are not that noticable.

yeah thats too much to just go up 3/8. i think paid 28 dollars for stamped steel stock style valve covers that where 3/8 taller they where chrome but mine have actually held up no rust.

Of course, you could stay with stock rockers. If too much lift, grind the slots longer. If valve spring pressure is under 400 lb open, they hold up well.

I can't wait to get it back from the machine shop to start the assembly.

Did you have to take out the baffles?
