455 Stock Valve covers and Roller rockers

The #6 and #8 roller rockers are hitting the stock valve cover baffle on the driver's side. What function does the baffle serve? Can I take it out? What are the repercussions? I already have 1/4" gaskets.

TIA

too keep oil splash down to the breather's . what gasket are ou using I have used thick cork to space them out or you can buy spacer rings to do it to.

If you cut out the baffles, the pcv will suck oil into the intake runners. I'd just run a spacer plate, or some taller covers.

Are the rockers hitting or the locknuts?

Rockers are hitting. Was able to move the baffles. No more noise.
