water coming from choke plate on intake

Is it part of the water jacket or is the gasket not working correctly ? thanks.

If you have water in your hot air choke stove then you might have a leaking intake manifold gasket. Before removing the intake, I would remove the choke stove, clean it and reinstall it. There shouldn't be any water in the choke stove.

Umm I think you need to re-evaluate that. There are no water passages anywhere near the crossover. The only passages are at the front and rear of the intake so I would start looking at the head gasket.

True, the water passages aren't anywhere near the choke stove; however, 5 minutes with a wrench to remove the choke stove is easier than spending $20 and 45 minutes on changing the intake manifold gasket or spending an entire day and almost $100 to replace the head gaskets.

Water in the choke stove would be the least of my worries with a blown head gasket. Is your oil milky?

Yeah I have to agree with you on that one. I just replaced my intake gasket on the 455 and I can tell you that intake is HEAVY.
I just can't think of any other way that water could get in there.

Let's back up. As others have noted, the choke plate on the intake is a LOOONG way from any cooling passages. Exactly how much water is there, and are you sure it's actually coming out of the choke plate? Is it possible that there is a small leak in the gasket and this is condensation from the exhaust that passes through that crossover?

I was thinking the same thing. Condensation and a pool of coolant are two different things.

Nah I have something major wrong with it I had water gushing 6 inches high out of it replaced the intake gasket and must have had a leak in to the a intake runner and it was sucking the water in and sending it out of the exaust the only thing i can think of will tear the thing down and check it and hope it is not too bad.

OK, now I'm confused. Did you have the choke plate removed from the intake at the time?

In any case, the only way for your intake to perform an Old Faithful impression is if you have a blown head gasket. Sorry.

I'm confused too. Where is the water gushing out from?
