Missing Bolt - Leaking Oil - 1969 442

Hi all,

was driving and smelled burning oil. Pulled over and it appears oil is dripping out of this bolt hole.

Any ideas what this hole is for and what bolt size would plug it?

That’s a motor mount hole for a different model vehicle. All engine blocks have one. Are you sure the oil is leaking from that threaded hole and not from somewhere higher up?

I'm not sure 100% - There's certainly a lot of oil. Will spray down the front of the engine with cleaner and see if I see where it is weeping from.

I would look closely at the fuel pump. If there's a crack in the aluminum housing it could be a source of oil.

Well, that might be it. My fuel pump actually just went out at the same time that this happened, yesterday.

JUST replaced it today since I’m lucky enough to be a short drive from a Summit.

Used all the brake clean I have left to try to get a clean look at things and started it back up. Doesn’t appear to be leaking.

I think it was the fuel pump or fuel pump gasket or both. Nice suggestion.
Got the new one torqued down to 25 ft lbs on the bottom and however close I could get by feel at the top since the torque wrench doesn't fit.

Thank you!
