Question Which manifold for hood clearance

Which Edelbrock manifold will provide adaquate hood clearance on a 1970 442 convertible with a standard hood, not an oai hood? Thanks Dave

Dave, the Performer will fit just fine. Someone else will have to chime in about the Torker and thoughts on the new Air Gap RPM that's suppose to come out soon (is it out yet?). Back to the top for more comments.

I'd Agree with 2blu442 I had a 69' cutlass with the performer and adequet hood clearance. I was running a holley street avenger and had a Q-jet for a quick time too so i know both of those carbs should be no problem as well. Hey 2blu442, do currently own all those oldsmobiles?

If you're running the flat hood, then you don't have the OAI breather assembly. You can run a performer,torker,port-o-sonic,crosswind,or the new air-gap rpm,if it ever comes to market.

Sattiolds69, yes but they are all project cars that need restored. There's still a lot of old iron in this part of the country although in the last couple years it's been going away at a much faster rate. I've been collecting project cars and parts to restore them for years, but haven't had the time or money to finish any of them yet. I know I won't be bored when I retire someday!

Cool Manifolds

Thanks for all the info guys. I believe I will go with the performer as it will give the best allaround performance. I do have the flat hood but hopefully after I get this car done I will be able to pick up a OAI hood. Dave

With the OAI assembly removed, will an Air Gap & Holley double pumper fit under the W30 hood???

Thx for your help!

Yes,even with a 1" spacer,as long as you have a drop base for the air cleaner. You can run a 2" or 3" element, depending on what pieces you have.
I also run a filter top.
