HEI Distributor Question

Hey Olds Fans
Looking to replace my distributor with an HEI version. My car has an older aftermarket Edelbrock O4B intake that is known for blocking the distributor during timing adjustments. Can you all recommend a HEI that is compatible with this older manifold?

Happy Good Friday!

Sorry, it took us awhile to get to your question. This is what you should use to clear the intake manifold in your car:

http://www.pertronix.com/prod/ig/ignitor/default.aspx

The Pertronix kit uses a solid state variable reluctor, just like an HEI distributor. I installed one in my 64 98 and it worked great! Plus, the price is right too. Let us know if you have anymore questions when you do the install.
