I have a distributor in a 394 that will not move or will not come out
the motor is out of the car. I want to remove and get the valley pan.
The car sat for 25 year in my garage I poured gas in the carb and it
started ran find but after I got it out I try to get the dist out and it
wouldn't move or come out anybody got any Idea
thank

Engine is out of the car?
no worries... assuming that the 394 is built much like a 455...
Remove oil pan
remove oil pump
tap oil pump driveshaft towards top of engine from below
Which should drive the distributor out. Have a soft surface under the distributor to catch it- or a helper.
you might have to remove the washers on the drive rod, or use adifferent rod of your choosing to tap the distributor with- not sure if the 394 uses an oil pump drive rod with washers or not.
