68 cutlass keeps dying!

hi guys! i have a 1968 olds cutlass supreme with a olds 425 7.0L and it will idle all day but after i drive it around the block every time im pulling up to my house thinking "oh wow it didnt die this time" it dies 10 feet away from my house... the issue is it wont start up unless i let it set for like 30 min to an hour after dying. i thought at first it wasnt getting gas so i replaced the sending unit with the filter and then i replaced the fuel pump, and then the inline fuel filter with a clear filter so i could see if gas was making its way through the lines. When it died today i took off the gas cap to see if i heard a swoosh of air to know if it was making a vacuum and not sucking up gas, but there was no suction or pressure. so i popped the hood and the fuel filter was still full. i took off the air filter and gave it gas at the carb, it was still spraying so i know its still getting fuel and still wont start and i keep trying till i flood it. i made sure the choke was off. i checked the plugs not that they matter cause it starts up later but i did anyways. i cant figure out why it wont start up without sitting and why i cant drive it more than 2 miles without it dying i would really appreciate any thoughts on this issue thanks!

Do you have spark when it dies?

I once had a coil going bad. When the coil got hot it would die, but when it cooled off it would restart. Since you said you've got fuel, as Eric asked check to see if it has spark.

What distributor are you running? What tuneup specs is your engine set to? What carb is on it? Any power mods to the engine? Do you know what your temps it's running at? How is your fuel line routed from the pump to the carb?
